Ill start by saying yes I searched, couldnt find anything quite covering my question.
Id like to thank the people who helped my identify it as a 1987 E-350 Dana 61 w/ 3.54 Gears.
My question is:
I have this axle, It WILL be getting re-geared.
If im not mistaken, we're seeing THICK CUT Dana 60 gears now for a Standard Rotation axle.
Would it be possible, instead of running the spacer ring, to just get a Dana 60 4.56 and UP carrier, and also buy THICK CUT 5.13 gears and use it in a Dana 61?
I also have a Dana 60 out of a mystery year Ford, 16 or 17 spline axles......I just like the idea of the Dana 61's bored spindles and big tubes.
I know people say that a 3.54-4.10 Dana 61 Carrier only requires a MR. GASKET spacer, however would it be possible to bolt a thick cut gearset to my carrier now and have it work..
Thanks for all your help.
