because they are fucking junk, go read a SxS forum. They are full of posts like 50 miles on my trans and it cracked, factory frame cracked in six months, broke the reverse chain backing out of a hole, 4WD wont engage after three rides, etc.... especially when several models cost 15-20 thousand dollars, I can build a pretty nice mini crawler for that kind of money.

Cool mini crawler, would like to see better pics and specs.

Its a collaboration of a Honda 400 street bike engine, and a 1954 crosley transmission, sami axles and jack shafts. The trans has been the "fuse" so far as for what breaks. I can pick it up though.

This would be the way to go in my opinion, but I am a fan of Samuria's. A linked Samurai, with those axles, 35's, and some drivetrain upgrades or replacements.

thanks. auto is holding up fine athough it was a bit tired when i put it in. have got another one to swap in that has a plate in the centre with a hole in it. im going to tap athread into the front shaft to stop it pulling out. as it has happened a few times. it is ver annoying caus it loses the aito fluid when it happens. other than that, the whole thing has been pretty unbreakable.
