Haha, well I called myself one and I meant it in a good way, Chris. I've always been happy with your products and will continue to recommend them. I'm not letting go of them nuts any time soon.

I've ordered from FOA twice,
once they were shipping to a drop box for a certain date... they were going to be 1 day late so they shipped to me in Canada for the original price they quoted... I was impressed.

second order was supposed to be 4 weeks out (2" airbumps) and was pleasantly surprised to receive them over a week earlier then expected.

not an FOA nut swinger, but as it's been made clear in this thread, if you deal with Chris you will taken care of.

Sounds like he has gotten shitty service thus far. But this Chris guy is tryin to make it right. Hope he does. I have been lookin at swapping my air shocks for some of these.
It says a lot that the company has people like Chris out there trying to keep things right. It also sounds like they need someone like him answering the phone tho.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but what happens if Chris decides to go elsewhere? From what I've read over the years and seen of him, he certainly seems to be a stand-up guy who's trying to make it right to the best of his abilities. I know I certainly wouldn't want his job and it almost seems like his talents are being wasted. In my experience, if the upper management isn't on the same team, you're screwed. My hat's off to Chris for doing what he does here.

Best of Luck,

Mike

motocrhis, what is your position in the company?
if your boss hasn't already looked at these pirate threads he should. then he should give you a raise and ask your advice on how to run a business.
are people able to order foa shocks thru you directly? that may be the only way i personally would order them as i do see you standing up for foa frequently.

thank you for your response chris

He will tell you to order through the website. I get automated responses with every order that includes my order number and an updated status when it ships. Prior to several orders I have pm'd Chris for a timeline and have never had to wait longer than what he said.

Each customer is different. I'm sure there have been some that were told 4-6 weeks and after the first they begin to "check in."

FYI- it also looks as if FOA has a few vendors now. I know method motorsports is one of them.

We have sold a ton of FOA products and we run them on our personnal rigs the only problem we have had were with a set of 2.5 piggybacks they leaked around where the reservoir mated to the shock body. I quickly got ahold of FOA and told them I needed them back before memorial day weekend and they made sure it happened.

Sure FOA might be working out growing pains but as long as they keep standing up and taking on there problems head on I will continue to sell there products and pimp them on my own rigs.

Cheers to Chris and JD at FOA thanks for the standup support and service

I'm an employee basically. If the company ever sells, I'll get some of that money... but until(if) that happens, I get paid a salary to do email and online sales, promotion and oversee things and try to make sure we are on the right track. I work remotely... meaning I'm not in Vegas where the shop is. The disconnect between myself and the shop is a source of issues. Unfortunately I cannot move to Vegas and we won't be bringing the shop here.. so I do the best I can with the circumstances.

Thanks Dave. The piggybacks have recently been pulled from the website until we can sort the issue...

I don't run FOA's. I have no real experience with them. But from the good to the bad that I read here (and I look at all FOA threads all the time) I will run them soon. Chris seems to do everything he can, to help everyone out. And I am all about the small business guys making it!

If you truly read what FOA is about, a leaking seal won't be an issue. Especially when they do what they can to fix it! I welcome a small hiccup here and there from a company that wants to make a product everyone can afford! Thank you FOA!

I am getting ready to order a set of coilovers from you guys and can't wait. I know you will help me, as much as your "nut swinging racers" and look forward to the great customer service!

My 2 cents, they work. They are what they are, an entry level rebuildable revalvable shock. They are getting better and we will keep on Chris JD and the shop to continue to do so.

I know this a customer of mine rolled in tuning on thursday trashing 2 shocks, there were 2 new ones at the hotel by 10 am friday. I will support them through the BS as long as they show they care and keep trying to fix problems.

I was curious about my order the other night so I decided to PM Chris for an ETA, Chris replied immediately the next morning with good news that they had shipped already and provided a tracking number. According to UPS tracking information my shocks will be here tomorrow which was only 9 business days from the day that I ordered them

I'll try to report back tomorrow with some pictures.....

Thanks Wayne. We don't always suck.
Getting a call from you on Thurs saying you needed 2 shocks for a Rausch Creek racer in Pennsylvania by the next day was a shocker but we managed to pull it off. They were NOT for a sponsored guy BTW, as the naysayers will surely try to say. Just a racer that is running our products and wanted to still try to race after his incident.

There have been issues Chris we know that, at the end of the day you and all of FOA can hold you head high as long as you keep trying to make things better. If you need my help you have my #!

The new 2.5" piston rocks buy the way much better, glad Mike listened. I would like to see that in the 2.0 too.

My buddy has ordered 2 coilovers and its been 8 weeks since he placed it. Ill tell him to call and ask for chris cuz he is super pissed off right now. He was told 2 weeks plus freight time, then 4 weeks went by and they said they were out of shafts. But they would ship in a few days. Now another 4 weeks and no shocks. Sounds exactly like the O.P's story.

Again what some of you guys need to realize is they are just getting back in business. They went through a business crash from a total loss fire...The week after koh they got a new shop and machines to build...most companies couldnt come back from this....but foa is strong and refused to fail cause of a fire....they are back and providing cost effective shocks for us not so deep pocket people. This being said....alot of people have ordered shocks onces they were back in business......back orders up the ass....so with all the orders they had come in out weighed the amount of material they had.....so its not just them...they do what they can to make it happen. So EVERYONE needs to be patient.... they are under staffed for the amount of orders and are doing their very best to make each and every customer happy. So if you have a problem....instead of posting here and causing a possible loss of customer....pm chris and he will handle it. Chris is the man when it comes to taking care of his customers. ****** motochris******** is his user name.

I'm drunk... so I'm going to speak

Every company has their issues. I just guess some get bad press for normal business issues, it just depends on who makes a post about them.

I could make this same post about 100 mfg's right down to some chinese m'er f'ers slacking in some damn wheel spacers I ordered that will probably fall off.

What you have here is a company that is growing fast and these are the growing pains involved. Yes you get what you pay for. 1 out of 6 or so FOA's that I deal with in my shop have some minor issue out of the box. Whoa.. had no nitro... whoa there, had to tighten something.... snore. It's been pretty minor on my end. Oddly none of them have been back for addtional repair. I'm not a dealer, a c-s-er, sponsored, etc.... never bought any of their stuff directly. People bring me foa to install. I usually call it Failed On Application... but the more I deal with their stuff the better my opinion is of it. Especially after fox fagging us off so bad at KOH this year. $8k in fox stuff and dude would rather fix his rhino than tune our shocks Even with a big swinging d--k from orw setting us up. So maybe it takes a while to get your stuff... maybe you have some issues...... I imagine they'll make it right.

foasales@live.com is direct to me.

We DID run out of shafts for 2.5 shocks... and it took forever to get material. The company we buy from kept telling is 4 more days, 4 more days... everytime we called them. Of course we made the mistake of telling customers the same thing and it bit us in the ass since it wasn't delivered until last week.

Whats the latest on the 2.5" shafts? Been waiting for some bypasses for awhile now. Also any word on doing the 3.5" bypass?
