I'm in as well, but give me a few days.
I am curious, when you say "down south" where do you mean? Just the city would be great. I'd assume in NC. You have my best regards, Bobby. While we have never met in person, you were more than helpful when I called you VERY early on your personal cell phone when i had questions out on the east coast trying to make an early trail ride!

In for $20 and I'm unemployed at the moment! (Not collecting government assistance yet either!)
What's my point to all this.... Get off your butts and give!

Wow..... I want to thank you all for the help. Bobby is one of my closest friends and he hates it but he is like my grandpa.....I tells me to say...more like your dad. Lol . I have known him for a long time and it hurts me to see him go throw the pain he does. I wish I could take the pain for him. It's always the good ones that seem to have the worst sometimes. I always wonder why the people that murder.... Rape....steal can't have this happen to them and the good ones live a pain free long life. So to see him pretty much get cut in half several times a year just to relieve pain but to know there will be a next time for another surgery maybe a few months down the road really rides hard on me. So again.... I want to thank you all for helping out. Thank you

Just to give a better idea.....this tumor is growing in his spinal canal and has eaten the bone in his lower lumbar. He has a titanium vertebra in for replacement. It has also eaten a hole in his spinal cord. When they do the surgery they get as much of it out as they can. But it grows back faster and faster. Once it gets to a certain size it puts major pressure on the lower sciatic nerves and causes him severe pain. He has done nutron treatments and takes all kinds of medicine to try and stop it.....changed his diet to prevent it from growing in hopes something he eats or drink might be feeding it. Spent 100s of thousands in different meds hoping for an end of this thing. But nothing helps. There is a cali and Arizona place that say they can either slow it down or make it stop but insurance doesn't cover it. With the treatment he does get insurance only covers 80% which pretty much costs him 20 grand a surgery . Plus all the meds he is on....about 2 grand a month. This is deplenishing his savings for retirement. If it finally takes bobby from us this will leave Tina with very little to live out the rest of her life. Tina is as big of a player in longfield as bobby. She takes care of all shipping and a lot of the behind the scene stuff. So we all need to rake care of both of them. But this give u an understanding of what is going on.
Bobby is such a strong person.....within a week of being home from surgery....he is out in the shop splining axles or making bead locks. Rebuilding birfs or doing something for us customers. He loves this business and our great community and sport. |

I'm in for $100. I cross posted to the Seattlecruiserheads.com forum, and will set up on MUD too. We all run his axles in our 40's and 80's, and no complaints whatsoever.
If you don't know Bobby and don't want to donate, now might be a good time to buy some new axles instead |

Bobby and Tina make the trip down to the Bender Jamboree every year. They were at the last one and it was tough hearing this would probably be the last for them because of the long drive. Bobby and Tina are two of the best people you could ever wish to meet.
Anyone in business or looking to get into business would be ahead of the rest if they modeled themselves after Bobby and Tina's business practices. |
