Cleaned up the motor, tranny is rebuilt using some one ton dodge goodies and jeep output shaft and tail housing so my atlas would bolt up.

Radiator came in, built a shroud for it and threw it in. Scout 2 steering gearbox mounted up, plated frame and sleeved, and a crossmember. Steering column done, getting very busy up front with third link, drag link, pitman arm, track bar mount and tie rod, but everything clears with 6" up travel and 2 degrees on track bar and drag link.

Looks really good. Why did you cut the rear part off the frame?

Glad to see I'm not the only to run a steering gear. Why did you decide to run it?

 

Thanks, since I was using a stock frame I thought I'd make some improvements.
The rear was shaved for better departure, the rear is also pinched in 1 1/2" on each side then straightened back out for shock clearance. Looks better too.
The gearbox decision is a result of reasearch, plenty strong in the rocks, and drives great at speed. I have friends that miss there assist which I will have.

Really dig it! Have always had a soft spot for Scout's, but they are super rare and even more expensive over-here in Denmark.
But you sure make this one look low, sleek and fast, great stuff keep it up!

Thanks for all the great feedback! I still haven't decided on keeping the original paint just yet. How about some more pics. The new fuel cell mounts are done so there she sits, put together a homemade brake setup with a Scout pad on it, CBR ps pump actually sits in front of the head, fenders, grill and tailgate pieces are mounted.
