How much do you pay for Dom tubing?

Wondering what prices are around the nation that you guys have been paying for Dom tubing in these sizes. Please post price based on per foot price and your zip code where you are at.

2.5" diameter .50" wall

2.0" diameter .25" wall

1.75" diameter .25" wall

1.75" diameter .120" wall

1.5" diameter .25" wall

1.5" diameter .120" wall

Thanks for everyone's input on this.

1.75" diameter .120" wall - 3.66/ft

1.5" diameter .120" wall - 3.68/ft

But they fluctuate, 38501

.120x1.74" 2.15$ a foot
.188x 1.75" 2.76$
.25x2" 3.02$

I'm sure if I bought the quantity if the bigger sizes that I do of 1.75"x.120" it would be a lil cheaper but I never need that much of it

2x.25 $13/foot
1.75x.120 $9/foot
1.5x.120 $8/foot

Even erw is about double what most of you pay per foot for Dom.

Wow. Alaska is just as expensive as Canada... I think it has something to do with Earth's centrifugal spin force. The further north you go the less it counteracts gravity making steel heavier, hence more weight per foot.

That's why I cross the border to get my tubing in WA.
Last time i bought 1.75x120 it was just under $3.

Same here in Hawaii if you have a hookup. If not, it's more.

1.75" .120" around $5.25ft, it seems to go up and down by about $4ft

1.5" .120" just found a hook up for $3.30ft

This does NOT include any delivery charge.

Even team tube is much cheaper, who most people get there tube from around here is around $3.25 for 1.75"x.120".

I get mine from a friend who runs machine shop, they buy A LOT of steel.

I also got it for very similar price from a guy on here from a big distributor in west sacramento.

Sacramento seems to have a decent amount of steel coming in and out of it.

I just paid $2.93/ft. for 1.75'x.120" DOM 2 weeks ago here in Arkansas. That was for 3 sticks but I buy a lot of sheet steel from these guys too. It was Ryerson in Ft. Smith,AR by the way.

After the dicking around Boyd has given me in the last three orders and your post in my thread on AC. I opened an account with Ryerson this morning. $2.9x on 1.75x.120. and 2x.120 that I ordered today was $3.30.

Oh, and the tube I'm getting from both Boyd and Ryerson is stamped USA. But the tolerances are a bit off. It is 1.487 ID which keeps 1.5" DOM from sleeving into it properly. Which blows ass.

Steel prices are down right now. Right at $3 a foot for 1.75x.120 usa dom. That's when ordering a few hundred feet though.

Indeed.

I need to build another set of traction bars for a guy, so I just got a quote yesterday for 1.5" x .25" DOM at $4.63 a foot.

My 2" HREW is only $1.75 a foot.

All my steel comes from one of these three.

McNeilus Steel, Inc.
Garelick Steel Company
Liebovich Steel & Aluminum Company | Home Page (recent DOM quotes, these guys deliver for free)

I found out a neat bit if info that can be related across the board..

I found that in the Portland metro area there are only three company's that everyone else can buy from... One of them was EMJ Earle M. Jorgensen CompanyŽ - Distributor of metal bars, tubular products, plate

Buy direct and in volume for the best buy.

I bet if you called EMJ (They have many locations) and got a 1k foot price I bet it would be close. Good price break at 1k feet.
