military independent suspensions

Just curious. I know how the independent suspension is hated by the offroad crowd but are these new military setups different?

Independent Suspension Axle Systems 3000 ISAS - AxleTech International

Add the portal hubs and I think it would be bad

Of course it will be a while before they show up in the surplus market

Cost/strength ratios would be one of the biggest reasons. There's ways to do it cheap, but then there's the whole knowledge thing and setting it up and most people lack the knowledge. It'll come around eventually.

If your looking to piece something to gether. Find a equipment salvage yard, that has Spra Coupe sprayers. They have a D44 center section.

Tac-4 system are a basic and strong system that is very versatile as it can be swapped to any corner.. but it is also very expensive.
