So i have been doin a bit of research and it seems that i need a fuel tank out of a s10 blazer to fit between the frame rails on my truggy M715. My question isnt about the tank its about the pumps. According to what i have read they run pretty close to the same fuel pressure at idle and WOT. Will they support the stock lq4 that it will be feeding? Has anyone done this?
I think you will be fine. Before GM started doing the whole fuel pump/sender assembly All the trucks used the same pump whether it was a 4.3 or 5.7 so I wouldn't worry about it.
If it's a vortec 4.3 then it should have adequate fuel pressure, but may not have adequate volume. They are different part numbers.
You should be able to drop in different buckets. Or you can do like all the drag-race guys and throw a walbro 255 in place of the stock pump and never worry about running out of fuel. Summit has some factory LQ4 replacements for less than $100, I would do at least that before you have to drop the tank and dick with it again.
