gm quad steer system

is anyone know a place, website or tread that explain out an automatic 4 wheel steering like used gm denali pick up??
i'm interested in a 4 wheel steering but i still use my truck on the road & i dont want to deal with the full hydro system that we usually see, i would like to have 3 position on the system, auto, off or manual override.. would it be possible??
thanks

Search for info on the Quadrasteer system. I posted pics of an article out of Peterson's about the system, here is a link to them. http://crawltech.com/modules.php?set...view_album.php

Go to the bottom of that page, you will see the photos.
This is what was done on the Ultimate Avalanche to handle rear steer on the road. Your best bet for an auto system on-road would be to find a Quadrasteer Dana 60 rear axle from a GM truck with 4 wheel steering, and take the entire computer system and implant it into your truck.

according to a few mags they are going to drop the quadrasteer option after this year cause no one is buying it, even after they droped the price like 1,000. and I herd it hardly steers at all only like 10 degrees

the degrees of steering vary by the speed. if i remember right it varies from around 60* of rear steering at under 10 miles per hour to 10* of steering at highway speeds.

60 degrees under 10 mph? No wonder I see them all running around with the plastic beds ripped to hell.

There's a guy on Ebay that's been trying to dump a bunch of them for over a year and I don't think he's had a whole bunch of luck.

you don't really need a whole lot of steering angle in the rear to be effective. Besides, i've heard stories of comp rigs that used rear steer and were twisting splines EVERY comp. They'd twist them one direction, switch the sides(centered diff) twist them the other way then throw them away and get new ones. That said, i'd like to do this one day on my 14 bolt with regular 60 outers anyway.

with that 10* they got a full size truck to have the same turning radius as a saturn compact car. i would kill for a bit of that in my longbed 4 dr.

Not sure if it's the guy your talking about... but... Bob at NoBoundaries4x4 has some of them... new in crates. He might have them on Ebay once in awhile. Get ahold of Jeff Allen there... he runs the shop. (Jeff... as in PSC Tom Allen's son )
