Why has no one started making any shaft to fit a 60 larger than 1.5 35 or 40 spline? You have diff makers changing bore sizes around and changing bearings to fit in the same housing id. I looked at my 60 powerlok and there sure looks to be enough meat for a larger axle? any thoughts or ideas? could you imagine a 2" d60 shaft? I could!
40 spline is 1.71".
Bigger and you're likely to just waste ring-n-pinions in a 60 rather than stuff that's cheaper/easier to fix (although, 2" 47 spline D60 shafts would be so expensive that the ring-n-pinion might then be cheaper :rasta: ).
Like already stated the r&P will suffer. Since the axle will transfer so much more of the load to the R&P rather than cushon it. A good 35 spline axle seems to be a good match with the ring gear size of a 60 so if you want to go bigger then you need to go bigger IMO.
the custom spindles would make this upgrade overpriced and not worth the money as well.
