I often wonder why people use interior cages if they plan to fully abuse their rig to the point it's going to end up in this thread
. An exo or starting with a buggy on the cheap would be miles ahead of the carnage an interior cage is going to bring....

An exo widens the rig by 3"-4" and gives areas to be hung up. I can deal with crushed body panels. My next rig is going to be all buggy. You just get to a point where body panels don't matter and get into a style of wheeling that works for you. Thats when you have to make the decision to keep crushing a body or just go buggy. I'm getting tired of breaking windows and doors that won't open.

True enough. I'm not building the rig I want because of the body damage it would get. It's easier to go buggy for me then have my dream build end up in this thread. I do agree $$$ plays a big factor in it. You have to ask yourself though, would you rather wait longer & build the buggy, or build 2 rigs and one ends up completely hammered?
I got nothing against people who beat theirs to the point it's nothing but a stock frame & tube, just seems like working backwards to me

What I'm confused about is the number of people in this thread that have rolled their junk pretty hard / multiple times judging from the pics and have no cage at all. I get money can be a factor, I get sometimes things just happen when you least expect them. But don't try and play with the big boys if your not properly equipped, your friends would rather have you around to wheel again VS watching you get hurt or worse. They only make fun of you taking the bypass cause, well, that's what friends. do.

We just left there yesterday. He asked if we had seen it since he took the doors off. We said no so he ran over and got it to show us. I'll see if someone in our group got a pic.

Sorry, no. I'm a big old iron fan and take pics whenever I come across one. This was at the local mud bog last spring.
