Power steering pump spill proof lid?

I have a 79 Chevy PS pump Im Using for my full hydro, I cut the filler off it and planned to extend it with some tube to make it a larger volume resivor but the diaphram does not seal well, so when I get it side ways this will be a mess.

SO now I have a PS pump with no cap at all. I can weld anyting to it.

I was eyeing a spare gass cap and filler I have sitting around, it has a pressure release, but I dont know how many PSI or if that would be acceptable for the PS pump?

I was also eyeing generic radiator caps.

How much pressure is ok to build up inside the PS pumps?
Whats a good fix to make a spill proof PS pump?

Ill be running a 7.4cu/rev valve, with a 8X1.125 single ended ram, so the resivor will have a different displacement for each direction.

I bought a filler cap and machined bung from Summit. Welded it onto the top of the can, welded in a bung for a pipe fitting and ran a hose from that to an overflow can. Plenty of capacity for hydro assist.

I bought a replacement can from PSC for the GM pump. I am running the same (dimensionally) pump as you. It replaces the ham can GM resivior with a sealed can for use with remote res systems. It's got a -10 return fitting brazed into the top too.

I welded on the gas cap and filler neck, It will work for initial testing, may be perminent if it works good.
