S-10 Blazer Project
Thought you might like to see this.
Its my brother's S-10 Blazer project. For the complete thread: http://www.4wheeler.ca/index.php?showtopic=20030 Here's a summary He bought a clean '88 S10 with around 100 000 miles on the clock. He got it saftey inspected (required in Alberta to register once a vehicle changes ownership) and it passed. 4.3L 700R4 Np 231 (left hand drop). ![]() First he hacked the IFS off, removed the rear suspension and began the linkage. He's using an Astro van box (same as an XJ/S10/Caprice box but rotates backwards so the pitman arm is forward) ![]() Front axle is a high pinion F-250 8 lug Dana 44, with welded gears and 5.38s (will probably be upgraded to a 60 at some point) Rear axle is a F250 as well, Dana 60, upgraded with 35 spline shafts (from a 70) , welded spiders, 5.38s, disc brakes and clalipers from a F-350. ![]() Suspension is 3 link + panhard front and dual triangulated 4 link rear. XJ Springs all around. Steering is cross over style with heims and will have hydro assist. ![]() A doubler using 241 internals is in the works, but probably will be in version two of the build ![]() Heims all the way around... ![]() Stock fuel tank raised 3" and skidplated ![]() More fun parts, the heims came from Evolution: ![]() Rear susp mocked up ![]()

Home built rear driveline (using F-150 slip yokes) no square tube here.
Street rod? ![]() Flex ![]() ![]() S-10 diet ![]() Rocker protection and skids ![]() Tube work begins... ![]() Tire wheel combo is 39.5" Iroks Bias on 16" homemade beadlocks. Cage is starting to take shape... ![]() It is really starting to take shape now, ![]() Still has to finish the cage, mount seats, belts, do brakes, finish up the wiring, exhaust, etc... but its getting closer.

He's planning to keep the stock 4.3 for awhile since it runs like new and has good power. Its going to be more of a trail/rock rig then a mud bogger so he doesn't need a 454. It may get a 350 TBI if one appears. He's using Taurus fans so it should be pretty easy to fit a small block.

Here is some current pics of the project. He is slowed up for awhile, but I suspect he will get back on it towards the middle of APril.
Seat brackets, and rear cage supports. More cage work to come. ALso, will likely swap to suspension seats. ![]() ![]()

Thanks Aaron, been busy, couldnt post this up myself. This build is not really up-too-snuff for this board, but I acknowledge that. The front 44 is lame, but a hp 60 is in the near future anyways (with in a year for sure) and I kinda want to see if I can blow up every part in the front 44.
this whole truck is being built while I attend university (ie broke), work, and keep the GF happy, so its slow going. Plus its my first build and I will be the first to say, I am no expert. I have been trying to keep this thing safe for some fun rolls, and plan ahead with the deigns to facilitate future mods (5.7, or alum block 5.3 if I have the $bling$) doubler, d60, suspension seats..... This was more of a rig to get going and have something I can have fun with and not worry about breaking or rolling. I am starting to see a little K5 in it too, and I like it! I should be finishing up the cage this week or next, and you guys will have to let me know if I need more tube and where, Thanks for the comments, hopefully this thing turns out ok. Phill |

I love that fender tube, and the cap on the cage to keep the weather out of the cab area. Is he planning on having a top in the back section, at all?
