2001 Cummins H.O., 24 valve (some specs):
Note how heavy the engine and transmission are. I wouldn't be thinking about this for a CJ.
5.9L Cummins, High Output, intercooled, turbo diesel. (it weighs 1022 lbs.!)
245HP@ 2700 rpm
505ft. lbs. torque @1600 rpm.
(the automatic version of the Cummins is not H.O. (@ 235HP, 460 ft. lbs. torque)
[They actually de-tune the engine so as not to over stress the Mopar automatic transmission.]
6 speed NV5600 (5.63/3.38/2.04/1.39.1.00/0.73/5.63R) all synchro (it weighs 360 lbs.)
The NV4500 weighs a measly 195 lbs.
NV241, H.D. t.case, 2.72:1 reduction. 54:1 final drive in low, low.
front 35 spline D60, coil over solid axle, 3.55 gears, no traction device
rear 40 spline D80, (11.3" ring gear) axle, 3.55 gears, no traction device (that sucker is huge!)
At 65mph, in 6th, (w/ stock 32" tires) I'm turning 1900 rpm. With 35's it will be slower
20,000lb. combined GVW and tow capacity. 13,600 lbs. for the trailer.
LT265/75R 16E M/S, Michelin's, 32" tall are stock.
