You can no longer get a manual for the HD.. I have a new crew cab LMM and so far I am fairly happy with it.. The truck is extremely quiet to ride in and comfortable as hell(leather seating).. The duramax has more than enough power(its got a programmer and exh. though) and gets considerably better fuel economy than my 6.0L ford did( 19mpg vs. 14mpg hwy).In all honesty though the truck doesnt handle my 30ft trailer with 2 rigs on it no where near as well as my superduty(or the dodge megacab that I owned for 2 days ) did. I have been casually looking for another 01--02 ford witha 7.3/6spd crew cab.. When I find one the chevy will be up for sale adn I will buy my wife a nice SUV instead.

thanks for the help guys, it looks like i will be in the same boat, both rigs will be about 6000lbs each, plus the trailer, i guess i thought chevy had an option on auto or manual i guess not. that sucks, big time. i hate autos!

I've got an 07 d max, I've pulled 2 trucks 6000 lbs each on heavy gooseneck trailers, loads weighed about 22k. I got 8-9 mpg pulling those loads and about 10 pulling 1 truck on a smaller trailer. I can honestly say the allison dose really well, coming from a 6 speed cummins I like the auto. You better get a stick quick, I heard ford is phasing em out also. Leaving only dodge.
