I went out to Carnegie a few months back, mostly a place to take the family for a day trip, or a test run on a new setup. Frank Raines is not much further down the road. My impression of Carnegie was that with some work it could be a decent place to spend a day for light wheel'n. I would be willing to lend a hand to improve the park. It would be nice to setup a trail through the creek bed, basically from one end of the park to the other, with large size boulders thrown in for challenge. The obstacle course needs a lot of TLC. The biggest problem I had with the 4x4 obstacle course was all the kids on bikes. The OC is the only designated 4x4 area of the park, but I had to dodge a lot of kids and a lot of evil looks from parents, because I was too close to their kids. Not to mention the park has a designated 'kid' area.

How is Carnegie compared to Frank Raines? I've always heard of it but never check it out. Also, where exactly is it coming from the Oakland Side.

I live off the First Street exit (one exit before Vasco) and I rarely go to Carnegie. Usually just to test something out. The valley floor is about 3 miles long(?) and four wheelers are limited to it. There isn't a whole lot for us there. The obstacle course has a small basic frame twister, but not much else. I find it irritating that the 4x4 section is not closed off to the bikes though. Typically the bikes come down there and use the small hill available to us as a jump. Usually getting pissed at us for being there.
