Dude I was thinking the same idea about a wing and I couldn't place a finger on why I liked the idea so much. Ry hit the nail on the head, I grew up around all sorts of RC cars and the proportions of your chassis are damn similar to many winged RC cars in history.
Most (unlimited HP) desert trucks seem to run out of top speed in the desert from wind resistance and lack of traction right? Haven't seen many people play with downforce yet, I'm all for it.

PS, once I thought RC car, I immediately thought of the Tamiya Frog, the look is similar to me

Why won't they sell you tireballs? Are they not for sale to the general public?

No Tig for wings - We used to build them for supermodifieds and sprint cars. Just aluminum over plywood and lots of rivets. Similar to an airplane wing.

the tranny coolers are behind the seats. you can see the duct holes on the sides. both coolers are shrouded

the oil cooler is integrated in the radiator

He meant the cooler

The frog is pretty wicked and different than most RC cars, though I grew up with my dads vintage Tamiya Superchamp, those things are badass!

If you want to be blown away by some vintage RC technology, Check out the Tamiya Blazing Blazer. Leaf sprung, solid axles front and rear (center drop rear and passenger drop front) Crossover steering, and a 3 speed transmission. The tires on this one are custom though

We'll call it an AERODYNAMIC AUXILLIARY FUEL CELL!

This buggy looks amazing. Compact chassis that doesn't look like a front engine buggy going backwards like a lot of rear engine chassis do. Definitely reminds me of an old school RC10 and you should definitely put a wing on it!

Rick and Dave said no way to my idea of a wing out back. (i think that would be cool)
How did you manage to get those liners installed? We tried to install them on a friend's rig (Trailready HD's and 37" Krawler reds) and we fought them for hours before giving up. I'm curious as to how you did it.

Tire balls are big money. I looked into them years ago back when I used to race quads in local XC races, after DNF'ing a race due to slashing both my rear tires and both my spares within 60 minutes of a 90 minute race

It was cheaper to keep replacing tires all season (I got race pricing on GBC at the time). Now that you mention it, they were hesitant to sell them to the big name quad guys too, even though that's what they were invented for.

No coolers.. i actually asked for a roof rack and was told no to that too.

the tire liners are just evil to get in. lube them up and start stuffing. i did them all be myself. but im buff and took 800mg of motrin 30 min before starting

My brother runs tireballs in his R1 race teryx. they work. we have been racing at 70mph on a tire with a 2" slash and didn't even know it. Shannon has no spare and the tireballs make this possible

Im in charge and have the absolute ultimate say on all accounts but the builder can do whatever he thinks is best if he disagrees with my ideas.

The car is ready to go except for
1. the custom belt for the dry sump. soon will be done
2. skid plate (.250 60xx series aluminum and black uhmw)
3. sliders (knock off from jr's build)
4. the computer programming for Racepak--need help here

I think i know what i want. We started with Adams chassis. I baught that.
Remember that my dad and myself came up with entire front end ifs assembly. My dad did all that CAD himself. He designed the jigs for the front hubs/uprights. The two of us also designed/CADDed the rear arms. We also have the torchmate and cut these parts out

.....but except for that its all them. They order whatever parts they want and do their thing. Their experience trumps mine. Their racing experience is extensive.

That said, my next car will be all CAD from day 1.

If this car had a place for a cooler in the back that holds a case of Coors light plus or minus a six pack I would shit myself.

Plus a wing with coors light stickers. Seriously this is insane. Great job.

Honestly, it looks great. But I gotta ask the question, can you see anything at all sitting in it? Do you plan on running any rocks or is it a 4wd desert car?
