Anyone know anything about Profender who makes coilovers and air bumps?
Ok, so anyone know anything about this company Profender? I see they are in Thailand and have no contact information pretty much makes me be very suspicious of this company.
I have never heard of them. Their bumps look pretty identical to the FOXs. Link below. http://profenderusa.com/?cat=3 http://hardlinecrawlers.com/forums/i...&topic=12398.0 Last edited by onetonwillysands10; 07-04-2011 at 05:18 AM. |

Profender has been around since 1976.
We just started importing Profender products to the US this year. There is contact info on my site www.profenderusa.com, im sorry if you had trouble finding it. The site is not great and we are in the process of making a new one. You can order from me here on Pirate, we are a supporting vendor. Thanks Ryan Director of US sales |

We are a dealer for Profender and I have to say, i'm HIGHLY impressed by their quality. Ryan had a hard time getting me to cave in after I saw they were made overseas, but I assure you they will far exceed your expectations. I'm still blown away when I see them on the shelf.
If you would like any more information you can call my shop or get in contact with Ryan and he will tell you everything you could possibly want to know.

We can figure spring rates and valving, but always remember just because a calculator says what it should be dosent mean you will not have to do some adjusting on your own. Everyone has a different driving style and not all cars respond the same. We stock all the shims and seals needed. |

Very limited info on here about Profender (actually very little unbiased info on the internet as a whole). Any Pirate members running the coilovers yet? Care to post up some opinions?

I have a friend that runs the coilovers. They look good and seem to work good. His only problem is the springs that came with them and thelength of the slider. He could not quite get the ratings he wanted and has had problems with the springs bowing and really rubbing the coilover body. He ended up making a new slider to hold the springs better, longer like a FOX. I think he is switching to a different brand of springs as well. Otherwise, for the money spent he seems pretty happy.

Short story, all my next race buggies and customer buggys will have profender suspensions. Ryan's support, lead time, cost, and performance has been like no other- which lately in this growing 4x4 community in my opinion is getting harder and harder to find non-worthless dealers / fabrication shops.
I was running 2.5" sway air shocks on the race buggy and in the last season or so of racing i think the car and driver finally passed the capability of the air shocks. I had also bent a couple shafts and broke some SWAY eyes and they were pretty used up with a high rebuild cost inevitable. I called Ryan up at Profender, and that day i had four 2" Coilovers in the back of my truck with a box of springs to play with. I had done some rough math, and even borrowed a 2K load cell from work to measure unsprung end weights. I gave Profender the data the week before so we knew ball park where i wanted to be for 571. These shocks got put on the night before a race. Testing and tuning consisted of the factory setup and what Ryan had recommended for my buggy - and it got driven into the trailer to head down to RCROCS race 3 in late August. At the start line both my co driver and myself were a little on edge. We had just put a lot of faith into Profender and had no idea how the car would handle. (o by the way, i broke my sway bar off and it didnt get replaced yet) On the way to the start line, with our helments off, i chuckled and said to my co driver "feels good" - he didnt answer me. By the second turn after the flag dropped and a couple hundred yards of chop we both were ecstatic and knew we were in for a sweet ride. They were an amazing improvement, ride was unbelievable in the rough of what i could hit and hit it twice as fast. The car truly is ahead of the driver again- and we still haven't changed anything to this day. We took 3rd that race, even with a very angry cooling temp gage which we later found out to be a dead #2 fan that was killing flow to the rear Griffen. We took 3rd that race, even with cooling issues. Couldn't have done it without Profender. Im not sure what dirrection or where i would start to attempt to make it "Better" we will probably be swapping out our bump stops for Profenders, and look forward to another "smooth ride" to podium finishes this year.
