As usual, i'm here, minding my own business when i get a phone call. Pete, my neighbor, says that the repo man is hauling off my jeep. Repo man?!?!? wtf! I own my jeep, i paid it off more than a year ago! Lets just say i was more than a bit pissed and confused. Fucking bank has messed up and put out a repo claim on my jeep Obviously i call the bank and raise some kind of hell, they say i Owe them like $3000 Looks like i'm gonna have to take my paperwork down there and kick Someones ass!!delete everything that is not in capital letters! and you fuckers not running black backgrounds keep your trap shut, let's see how far this goes!:blackflipoff2:

Because even if you easily get the paperwork straightened out. I'll be they won't be willing to pay the tow truck fees, storage fees, etc. for their fuck up.

Don't even call and complain to the bank. Call the police and declare it stolen. Also be sure to notify your insurance company. Point is you know where it is. You know its yours. The bank screwed up big time, and the more noise you can make about it the easier its going to make it for someone to lose their job, and for you to be properly reimbursed for your time. Make sure you mention lawsuit at least twice in the same sentence, and that your invalid wife whom you care for solely is going to have to go without medicine for a week because you couldn't get to work.

They made the last payment, bank sent the title and everything. And somehow there was $75 outstanding on the thing and Honda american finance sent the repo dude. Before they repo the vehicle the repo company will usually turn in a form to the local police department informing them of the intention to reposess (that way they do not get stolen vehicle reports for repo'd vehicles).
More than likely you will need to settle the issue with the bank & then take your paperwork to the tow yard & settle the towing/storage fees with them. To get your money back, you'll probably have to sue the bank. Good luck. Also, don't delay in case they took it directly to the auction lot...
It cost me over $1000 when the bank incorrectly repo'd my truck. It turned out the copies of insurance were misfiled & they showed that I owed $$ for the insurance they put up to cover the truck (incorrectly thought I was behind on my payments). Took me several days (@ $65 / day storage) to get it all straightened out. $400 towing fee, 5 days at $65 ea, plus a few other "filing fees". Also, required a trip to the police dept to get the repo filing taken off (and more $$).

Similar thing happened to me. I got the payoff amount and sent it in, got the title in a few weeks. Soon after, I get a deliquent payment call for $325 and I explain the situation with an agreement they would take care of it. A couple of years later I am refinancing my house and it is on the credit report as a write off. I call them again and explain it again with yet another promis to "take care of it".

It is still there and we continue to go through this about every month or so. I don't even have the car anymore...
