Diesel,

When your dropping weight like you are... Walmart and Target are your friend. If you hate Wally World check out Target. Decent fitting jeans for $15. Most of my wardrobe anymore consists of junk from one of these places. The down side of dropping weight is having to buy clothes that are only going to last you a couple of months.

And I feel yours!! (pain, that is!!) Women's clothes are just as bad---they make them for the anorexic, boobless, hipless, Renee Zellwegger girls or the cheap Vegas stripper type of girl. ( I realize that this is a popular look for men to enjoy---)

I'm tall, not fat but definately not skinny and it sucks ass to try to find clothes. It takes all the fun out of shopping. So, I buy in bulk...find one thing that fits right---buy every color that I like. (which is about 4)

Great story ---girls have problems too---just a bit different...

Here is the solution to all your problems... http://www.sierratradingpost.com

They sell Carhart Jeans in regular blue and beefy-t t-shits all at good prices. They actually have some other shirts that are not bad too. Don't be put off by there website as it looks like they sell some gay shit too, but dig in and you can find some good stuff.

Congrats on the loss of weight, I too am trying.

I haven't read the post all the way through. I can't understand who the hell thought vintage fit in XXL was a good idea, nor the pants that look like someone got dragged across the pavement in them while someone spilled some paint.

God I feel old, and I'm not even out of the age of this crap yet.

My last trip there got me two pairs of plain jeans, two longsleeve-T's, two button-ups and some regular Khaki pants for a little over 50 bucks. Nothing fancy, nothing trendy or metro, just nice clean plain clothes.

At your weight I would have guessed a larger waist size, 38's are a dime-a-dozen on their clearance racks. Shirts, I don't know if they have anything bigger than XXL, but my dad is almost your size (6'2", 290) and he always finds plenty that fits there. Come to think of it, my older brother is quite a bit larger than you, and he finds shirts there occasionally as well.

Just a suggestion.

And Congrats on the continued weight loss/health improvement.

I have to say, Old Navy, sucks for clothes for me. I have honestly found one button down shirt that fits like I like period. I do got a work shirt but it's tight on my arms. Only place I can find boxers, shorts, and jeans that really fit me is American Eagle. Carhartts fit too.

Bass Pro Shop is where to go to get some good clothes

That is about the only store I don't mind looking at clothes.. I have bought some nice clothes 'and a lot of other stuff'' from there for a good price.. They have some good dress shirts and plenty of everyday T-shirts.. And best of all it certainly don't attract the faggot types

Gotta agree with the Bass Pro Shop. I haven't actually bought any clothes from there yet, but did look around for a bit.

I've been impressed with Old Navy with their pants sizes. Getting a 34x36 is damn near impossible, but they seem to keep quite a few on hand. Bought my last several pairs of jeans and khakies there. Polo shirts aren't too bad either.

It's been a few years since I've been clothes shopping... probably gonna have to go again sometime soon...

NotMatt's male fashion rules: Dickies for when you have to be "formal", Carhartts for everything else. Arizona button-up shirts for when you have to be "formal", hanes plain white T's and a few select favorite T-shirts for everything else. Dickies shorts. Dickies pants cut off below the knee and hemmed properly may be worn in place of actual "shorts".

I HATE clothes shopping, but moreso, I hate the fact that T-shirt manufacturers can't seem to agree on what an XL size shirt is. Half the time they're too big, lots of times they're too small, only a few times do the actually fit correctly (See "hanes plain white T's" above). I must have a "long" torsoe, because I have a hard time finding t-shirts that actually fit me length wise.

My other gripe is this... why are there no manufacturers that make pants with an inseam shorter than 30"? I wear like a 28.5" inseam based on how much I have to cut off of a 30" pair of jeans and then hem. Good thing I own a sewing machine and know how to use it.

tommy bahama (too freaking expensive! but the swimsuits are nice)
duluth trading company
anywhere that sells carhartt

all my khakis are from old navy cause they're cheap

yeah old navy has all the gay stuff, but if you dig around you can get normal clothes there too...

filene's basement is a great store too, dunno if they have one around you. nice designer stuff for cheap. yes they have a lot of queer stuff, but lots of standard polo shirts (golf shirts and oxfords) for cheap.

grats on the weight loss, im workin on it too

I love Old Navy.
It's stylish clothes, not expensive, you can still buy jeans you can bend over in You can buy jeans that you *almost* can't bend over in

I walk into department stores and I wonder what women wear to work nowadays
If your boobs are popping out, your shirt not see-through, or your stomach or ass crack isn't showing then you're out of style. And this is professional clothing!

I'm not even going to get on a rant about clothes designed for women with adolescent curves.

Well, yes I am. Have designers looked around? I know they tend to hang out with *models* but they're missing their market. Most women have curves. Design the f-ing clothes for that!! Yes, Mr. Designer, my butt is bigger than my waist you skinny little....

Edit: Congrats on the weight loss, Diesel

It always amuses me when the short people of the world try to pick on the fatties.

Dude, my 18 month old is 36" tall. That's like 18" shorter than you.

He's just butthurt because every time he stands next to a fat person, he has to listen to all the "Get in ma bellay!" and "I ate a babay!" comments!

ps- good on the weight loss, but how much do you actually weigh NOW? what did you weigh before? i'm 240 and i am a 38w, but 6'1". i need to lose a few lbs too.

oh, yeah, funny.

And if your 18 month old takes after you it weighs 3-4 times as much as I do.
