Just because an item is 'bran new' doesn't mean you can expect to sell it second hand for close to a 'new' price. I'd be VERY surprised if a gear manufacturer (or seller, distributor..) would honor a warranty to anyone other than THE ORIGIONAL BUYER...

I'd guess the price of smack went up and he 'needs' that extra $25.00 to cover. Gotta have that fix...

this is a legally binding term, i know, my dad has been in many lawsuits with customers who have tried to pay him off and written "final payment" on the check, since this is the only payment, it is the "final payment" youve got yourself between a rock and a hard place. give him the fucking gears before a bunch of guys from the board show up at your house and do it the hard way
