Just got back from watching it. It was really good. There are some POV shots at the beginning that kinda messed with my equilibrium, but after that it was all good.

I saw it and it was just another glorified war movie to me, nothing special. A few people in the NSW community i have talked to are all for it, but most seem to not be too thrilled.

I really want to see it because I'm a video guy and the movie was shot mostly with 5D and 7D DSLR's. Pretty awesome what they are doing with cameras that most amateurs can afford.

Do we know for sure that the "active duty SEALS" are actually active duty SEALS? I mean, pretty much every scary movie to come out in the last decade has been "based on actual events" using "actual footage."

Saw it last night. I agree with most of the general reviews I read online before going - the acting/story line sucks, but the action was good.

The most realistic part for me was their elevated breathing in some of the POV shots as they start to engage. Nice to know the SEALS deal with that too...

Thats cool. Hear more and more situations where HDSLRs are being incorporated into normal Hollywood shoots. Especially un smaller spaces. I've always wanted to get into doing more with mine but just don't have the time to put not it right now.

I drew up some plans for two different homemade steadycam rigs I'd like to build for it one day.

I don't think active duty SeALs are going to allow a movie to be made about them that wasn't accurate, if they're the ones doing the acting.

Pretty sure everything you see in this movie is something they've trained and/or done before in an actual op. What you have to wonder though...what are they not showing? What kinds of still-classified maneuvers/tactics/strategies are being employed in the theatre that aren't being shown in the theater?

I can't possibly be the only military guy on here thinking that obviously, these active duty Seals don't do shit. Why? Because if they got enough fucking time to make a movie, obviously, they aren't doing anything.
