Biometric Gun Safes
I'm shopping for a gun safe to hold two handguns; I like the idea of biometric entry for SHTF situations. Has anybody used and/or have comments on the biometric safes offered by Gunvault (Multi Bio)? How about biometric safes from Barska or LockSAF? Stack-On has some biometric models for about $100 less than Gunvault (I've used Stack-On's plastic toolboxes with no complaints, but never heard anything about their safes).

I wouldn't trust cheap biometric stuff to hold my shtf stash. Mythbusters did an episode on getting around those with a gummy bear. I don't know about you but id hate some crappy little safe denying me access when I finally get to go zombie hunting.

I have the one with just the 4 buttons you push with whatever finger is on it. It crapped out and now I am stuck using my key.

From what reviews I can find, the LockSAF and Barska models seem fairly reliable, with entry in about 2 seconds (maybe?). Some people complain about the fingerprint scanner being finicky about your finger position, and others simply program their fingerprint at several different finger positions (e.g. these safes will store 9 to 20 different fingerprints, so some folks just populate the "database" with their finger on the scanner at different angles so that it increases the probability of a successful read).
I could be wrong, but I think the GunVault requires that you swipe your finger; the LockSaf and Barska are static scanners.

Costco has a flat safe on sale FYI. I don't think it's got the fingerprint thing tho.
