The release of the 86/FR-S/BRZ
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13746_7...gt-86-moniker/
They finally came out with the release photos and some videos of folks driving it over the weekend, I'm super excited about this car and can hardly wait to get behind the wheel of one. I've been a die hard Toy fan since my dad got his first Tundra in 2000. Anyways let me hear your guys opinions on this budget sports car and the co-op of Subaru and Toyota to develop this car. A few vids of some Japanese folks driving them... wish I knew what they were saying. http://autoholics.com/2011/11/27/Fir...-Action-583852

Looks like a cool car. I like the lightweight front engine RWD idea.
The co-op idea makes sense to me- hopefully goes better than the Saab deal.

The Subie version is sexier
(Which is par for Toyota. Take an awesome idea and water it down) There are only two Toyota Cars I've ever loved driving. 3rd Gen Celica and the 86-91 Supra. Everything else... Feh. Anyway, I hope this car works out and is reliable. Front engine, Rear drive, and a Boxer engine to boot? I'm all over that.

I think a turbo version has real potential to compete with a few of the mid level sports cars out there. It sure has the fundamentals down and right.

http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...auto-show-news Thats the Subaru version, personally I think the Toy version looks better, the look of the Scion version has yet to be seen as well which is the version we will get over here.

All it needed was gold wheels and it would have been perfect.

Why does Toyota need to get all
and badge it as a Scion for the US market. ![]() Been waiting for this car for a long time, glad to see its going to be a reality one way or another.

I wanna go wheeling.

I've driven it. And it rocks
![]() Very well balanced little car- enough power to kick the back end out with a little clutch work and it's light enough to be predictable. Suspension is great stock but even better with a little firmer dampers and lowering springs as we had setup on a second car. It'll be fun to see what the aftermarket brings to it- I think it'll be a hoot with a few pounds of boost and some sticky tires... Ryan |

A 1997 Kia Sephia (Korean tin can) weighs 2160 with a 4 point rollcage, racing seat, harness, detachable steering wheel, no dash, every piece of bolted in parts removed from the interior and 45 pounds of lead...
2600lbs is really good considering it has multiple seats, A/C, heat, radio, full interior, and pretty much all the power shit you can buy I'm sure...
