I have avoided this thread all day because I didn't know what the hell it was. Low and behold I come home to a box on my porch, what's inside? Elf on the shelf, I came right to this thread. I will be watching this.

George is just hanging out in our house tonight

I was going to do a noose, but figured it may be a little inappropriate.

I'm not good with links but there is a cartoon on TV about a family...it's a little corny but the animation is good and the kids (4 & 5) love it.

Mine is Almost 2 and she most definitely "gets" Elf on a Shelf. She comes out every morning looking for "Charlie" but I am not pushing the envelope too much on the being good since he is going to tell Santa, but luckily for me she rarely acts out of line. I am just hoping this trend stays...

The ones I've seen are SUPER creepy lookin'. We have enough creep factor what with the toys that go off in the middle of the night...etc.

Cliffnotes: NO elfs on OUR shelves!
I'm in the same boat. 13 year old, and a 18month old. No need for elves

We had something similar as kids, but instead of "Elf on a shelf" if was "If you're bad, I'm gonna beat your ass". It was very effective.

Beatings are against the law now.

You think that is bad? From a friend's Facebook. I'm thinking the elf is the one needing watching.

My elf...uh...Snelf...is an alcoholic. He drinks all our crown. Then he makes a run on the Rum, and vodka. We wake up in the morning, and say "why are all these booze bottles out?" Bastage.

I did this one when the kids were sleeping. Figured I would have some explaining to do if the elf was like this in the morning when the kids woke up.

That lil sumbitch TP'd our XMAS tree last night!!!
Night before he took a John Deere frontend loader to my box of Applejacks.
Night before that he dumped out a ton of sugar on the counter and proceeded to make "Snow Angels".

I think the lil dude is awesome

while this thread defeinately has some funny in it, i dont get it at all.

our kids have never needed an "elf to make sure thier behavior is good. they know damn good and well that if they are little shits, they dont get gifts.

I don't think get it. It is a fun toy for kidlets. Not a behavior device.
