What's the correct course of action for such disrespect?

I didn't read all 21 pages of this...so it might be covered. But I just did a 2 month road trip from denver to portland...going through southern utah, arizona, up the pacific coast and to portland.
I see you had some bad luck with WMA's...but national forest is the safest bet and that is where we always stayed unless we got some information from locals in and around national parks that new of private land that owners opened up to travelers where donations were welcome. Also wal mart if part of a mall or other entity etc, they have the right to ask you to leave...but from what I remember, if it was just the wal-mart and not part of a mall or what not you could stay there no problem...just don't over stay your welcome. I always just tried to be cool with the locals and go to any WMA or National Park rangers station/outpost and get whatever local knowledge they had of areas that were safe and free to stay. I never once paid for a place to stay unless it was donation and I was fine with doing that because it keeps land owners happy to welcome more travelers and just keep the land clean...pack in pack out. cheers |

I agree on seeing where the NAPA thing goes. Been following a long time with this. You went to where the boom was and found a job. Get your self deep in the ranks and NAPA for a year or two then transfer back to WA or where ever you want to go!

Also agreed on NAPA.
Start calling all the maintenance shops and repair shops in the area, private and dealerships and oil companies. Find out what equipment they use. Stock a quarter’s worth of their oil/air/fuel filters, brakes shoes, a drum or two, tons of wheel seals and 1710/1810/SPL55? (or whatever that new series is) u-joints. Reman truck air compressors, treadle valves, lots of air brake fittings and line. If you can keep their big trucks and equipment running, you may be able to convince them to warehouse less stuff on site – or possible warehouse YOUR stuff on their site.

Without the pipe dreams and theory, whats the chance of a 60 year old truck driver making a career up there? Ex military and a 20 year class A holder with endorsements.
The guys got the same drive and plan as St.James but after following this thread im not so sure this is going to be his best option but maybe the cdl will make it easier for him, he seems pretty set on it but doesnt really have any connections or places to start looking. He managed to set himself up pretty well for the the attempt. He will be heading that way with a 36' 5th wheel to live in as soon as he can figure out how to get the thing hooked up to his F-Superduty IDI with a huge commercial flatbed on it.

'We' actually have a full on Heavy Truck store as well, adjacent to the main store, sharing the same lot. They've got everything from LED taillights, to monster 3rd members. Heck, we've got a gun shop in 'our' shop. Healthy selection of fully dressed tacti-cool AR's(5.56, 6.8 & 7.62), M1A's & bolt guns (That Kimber in .338 is one sexay beeyatch) - lots of sig & Kimber pistolas too. I'm supposed to be getting a $2 raise this Monday & have been bumped to 10 hour shifts, 6 days a week. So, it's goin' . . . Kinda fucking boring & lonesome in my off time - but I came out here to make $. All of the Napa's are independently owned, so a transfer wouldn't work - but having worked the counter at the #1 Napa in the states can't hurt if one was applying elsewhere. I bet I see as many customers in a week, As another store sees in a month. I've been averaging 60 invoices a day - if that means anything to anyone. We have the #1 grossing McDonald (that just means it ALWAYS takes 20+ minutes to get anything) & apparently the #2 Walmart (I may have already mentioned that). I get my first real paycheck tomorrow, so that should breathe some life into this operation. Doing good ! They seem impervious to the wind & cold. They had a couple of accidents while I was away, which sucks - this isn't chihuahua shit ![]() My neighbor usually lets them out before I get back 'home', I bought the kit to tie them out, but they won't have it. They've never been bound, seldom leashed - Duncan attacks the cable like it means him harm. ![]() I may just leave the door on the trailer open, now that it's warming up - let them roam at will. Their always within 50' radius of the trailer when I get back & their out anyhow - they know where they get fed.
