Whereas Zimmerman, a self-appointed, untrained neighborhood watch volunteer, admitted to police that he shot Martin in the chest;

Whereas Zimmerman raised a `self-defense' claim and Martin, as the deceased victim, was unable to rebut such claim;

Whereas Zimmerman was never charged for the crime and was released by the Sanford Police Department soon thereafter;

Whereas despite the numerous pieces of evidence, including a 911 call made by Zimmerman, Martin's final phone conversation which occurred during the course of the crime, the numerous calls made to 911 by nearby neighbors who heard the incident, and Zimmerman's troubling legal history, the Sanford Police claimed they did not have enough evidence to detain Zimmerman and subsequently released him;

Whereas Zimmerman's unfounded assumptions and racial bias led to the use of deadly force;

Whereas a month after the crime, Zimmerman remains free and still bears a concealed weapons permit and the legal right to carry a gun;

Whereas Trayvon Martin's brutal death and the inconceivable fact that his killer remains free should not be ignored;

Whereas the Sanford Police Department and its Chief, who is on temporary administrative leave while the case is being investigated, have faced a firestorm of criticism over the handling of the shooting;

Whereas this case sets a horrific precedent of vigilante justice and compromises the integrity of the legal system;

Whereas the Department of Justice will investigate all facts and circumstances leading to Trayvon Martin's death and consider Federal criminal prosecution of George Zimmerman based on Federal civil rights statutes;

Whereas over 2,000,000 signatures have been collected on an online petition demanding Zimmerman's arrest and justice for Martin's family;

Whereas Florida's Stand Your Ground law has been criticized by both the legal and law enforcement communities;

Whereas 21 States have passed and implemented Stand Your Ground laws;

Whereas Stand Your Ground laws dramatically and recklessly expand the right of citizens to use deadly force in self-defense, and have been the subject of national scrutiny in the wake of Trayvon Martin's death;

Whereas the Stand Your Ground laws were drafted by organizations, corporations, and individuals that ignored advice from experts explaining that such laws would compromise public safety, disproportionately impact communities of color, and would result in offenders circumventing prosecution;

Whereas an attempted expansion of the Stand Your Ground laws doctrine has resulted in the collaboration of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), which promotes conservative public policy by affecting change in State legislatures;

Whereas ALEC drafts model legislation for its members to champion and advance in their home States;

Whereas ALEC used Florida's Stand Your Ground law as a template in its push to broaden the Castle Doctrine nationwide; and

Whereas the 2005 passage of Florida's Stand Your Ground law resulted in similar statutes being passed in 16 other States: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
(1) admonishes any State, local agency, or official acting to obstruct an open investigation or failing to fully execute their official duties in the investigation of the events surrounding the death of Trayvon Martin;
(2) condemns all relevant parties for their roles in proposing Stand Your Ground legislation and similar legislation that compromises public safety and the integrity of the prosecutorial system;
(3) condemns unfounded reliance on Stand Your Ground laws to protect actions that extend far beyond historical use of self-defense;
(4) urges any State legislature considering Stand Your Ground legislation to reject such proposals; and
(5) urges the repeal of the Stand Your Ground law in every applicable State, including Florida.

i didn't see this news story from yesterday posted.

For instance, FOX 35 in Orlando spoke to one eye witness the day after the shooting. "The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: 'help, help…and I told him to stop and I was calling 911," the witness identified as "John" said. The witness further indicated that it was the guy on top who was doing the hitting and that the shot occurred while that attack was taking place.

The man who shot Martin, George Zimmerman, was the man in the red jacket. The police report corroborates the witness' account: "While I was in such close contact with Zimmerman, I could observe that his back appeared to be wet and was covered in grass, as if he had been laying on his back on the ground. Zimmerman was also bleeding from the nose and back of his head." As Zimmerman told police: "I was yelling for someone to help me, but no one would help me."

So according to that, there was a witness to the shooting. Which kind of explains why the shooter was let go by the police.

We the People vs. the Democratic Party

Black twenty-year-old male Danielle Simpson, with two black associates, was interrupted by 84-year-old Geraldine Davidson while in the process of burglarizing Davidson's home. The group duct-taped her mouth, bound her hands and legs, and threw the white former schoolteacher and church organist into the trunk of her own car. Ms. Davidson was severely brutalized before the trio eventually tied a rope attached to a cinderblock around her legs and threw her, still alive, into the river.

Brutal crimes are not unique.

But here is what makes this case remarkable. For seven hours, Simpson rode around in Ms. Davidson's car, stopping for fast food and opening the truck to show off his victim to his black friends. Due to fingerprints left on the car, detectives estimate that around ten people viewed Ms. Davidson in the trunk.

Incredibly, not one person called the police or lobbied to set the poor elderly woman free. What could possibly harden these black youths to such an extent?

Perhaps one of the detectives investigating the case nailed it when he described the black criminals and their friends as part of a "culture of anger."

Sadly, Democrat efforts to cultivate black anger are bearing much fruit. Before the Trayvon Martin incident, black flash mobs were attacking white strangers across America. The horrific rape/murder of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom received scant publicity because it was seen as politically incorrect to publicize a beautiful white couple being brutalized by five black thugs.

Exploiting Trayvon Martin to fuel the Democrats' culture of anger, Democrat U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush spoke to the House wearing a hoodie. Rush assumed that Martin was racially profiled and said that "just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum." Yet another example of a Democrat jumping the gun to further their storyline before all the facts are in.

Sixties radical Angela Davis faithfully contributed to the Democrats' culture of anger. Davis said Trayvon's story is not unique. According to Davis, blacks are physically attacked by whites all the time. Davis also accused white America of systematic racism against blacks. Will someone please inform Ms. Davis that a black man is leader of the free world solely because millions of white Americans voted for him? At only 12% of the U.S. population, black votes alone could not have put the Obamas in the White House.

The Trayvon Martin incident has afforded the Democrats a golden opportunity to build upon their culture of anger. Al Sharpton said, "Enough is enough!" Jessie Jackson said, "Blacks are under attack!"

So, according to U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush; Angela Davis; Al Sharpton; Jessie Jackson; and the majority of Democrat leaders, pundits, and the Democrat-supportive mainstream media, black Americans are routinely physically attacked by whites. Is there any wonder why millions of black Americans are fuming in a culture of anger?

Well, allow me to crush the Democrats' perfect liberal paradigm with the truth. FBI and U.S. Justice Dept. statistics confirm that blacks are 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against whites than whites are to commit violence against blacks. Ninety percent of the victims of race crimes are white.

What are the consequences of the Democratic Party keeping black Americans stewing in their well-crafted culture of anger? Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery. Blacks are three times more likely to use a handgun and twice as likely to use a knife. Forty-five percent of black crime is against whites, 43 percent against other blacks, and 10 percent against Hispanics. Who can deny that black criminals are angry at whites and fellow blacks? Blacks are seven times more likely to end up in prison.

Folks, I am not one for frivolous lawsuits. Still, I cannot help contemplating a lawsuit all the same: We the People vs. the Democratic Party for severe damages resulting from them creating and fueling for years a culture of anger in black America.
