Credit Card offers...
I keep getting offers in the mail and I keep shredding them. Never had a card besides my GE money, which I had to get through a Tire and Wheel shop. I was told I need better revolving credit and I've been stubborn against credit cards, but this card has made me wonder.
Since you guys are the smartest, most resourceful people I know, sadly enough, I am wondering if anyone has info on the chase Slate card. I hear it's good.

I closed five Chase accounts. Checking, savings, and three CC's.
Screw them. Nothing is worth dealing with them.

I have a Walmart credit card with a $100 limit. That's exactly what I wanted. Walmart is everywhere, you can get a tire, a battery, food, whatever.
Anything beyond that is a waste at best, outright theft at worst. My credit sucks, but guess what? I don't owe anybody shit. One year left on my wife's big white egg mini van, four on the house, and then it's done.

If you'll be paying the balances off in full (you should) and you are not going to be using it very often most credit cards are all about the same, just read the fine print to make sure there aren't any annual fees or other douchetrickery.

I have a Chase Slate. I got it last spring to consolidate three other cards that I subsequently cancelled. I paid that balance off in the 6 months zero interest period that was offered with the card, and kept the it to use for some bill auto payments, and personal fuel expenses. I pay it off every month, and have gone from 680 to 780 in the last 14 months.
I get about a dozen card offers a week and shred them all. |

bam. Be sensible, don't over spend, pay off balances every month if you can, to avoid paying interest and you can reap the benefits of credit. Rewards, cash back etc. Don't let all the Dave Ramsay nut swingers scare you away from credit. When used responsible it's quite handy. I use my card for reimbursable gas at my job. It's nice to not have to pay out of pocket for gas money my company owes me. |

Thankfully, I don't use you for credit advice.

just got a discover card, they have pretty good offers at the time. Transfer some balances for 0% APR for 15 months. I've been using the 0% transfer with several cards and then pay them off in the time period. Shred the card and setup auto payments, then cancel the card. Seems to be working well.

get the one with the lowest interest rate. when you need it is there. it will slowly build your credit. say you buy a 3 tanks of fuel a month. use it one month, pay the minimum untill its paid off but dont use it untill its paid off. aint nothing like good credit lol

If you are one of those people that hast to have things RIGHT NOW, cant save, cant walk around with $50 in your wallet for more than a day without having to spend it, or you live pay day to pay day then credit cards are probably not the best choice. Also, if you are not single and your significant other can not control their spending do not put them on your account. Hell even if they can control themselves better to not put them on your account.....
