I new where this picture was taken before I read the comment. I grew up in this picture and have to say it is amazing to see how it has changed. Now there is a hotel at the bottom of these buttes.

Looking from the opposite direction up at the buttes. We used to ride our four wheelers all around those buttes back in the day.

Several weeks ago, I was out in the Black Mesa area of Oklahoma, which is close to where I grew up. There's a little town called Kenton there. The town was established in 1891 and at one point, had a population of around 1,500, but only about 20 people live in and around town now. Has been pretty much that way as long as I've known.

On that particular day, me and few others from my group went into the museum. I'd never been in the museum before and there were a lot of pictures from the late 1800's to the Dust Bowl era in the museum. Two pictures stood out though. They were of the town taken from the same spot. One was taken in 1900 by a guy who had to haul his equipment up the hill by mule, and the other was taken in 2000. Basically both pics were the same as the first shot was taken before the town hit it's heyday and the other long after.
