Durango WTF?
At distance I thought I was behind a BMW X5 with no badge today, then got closer since I was stuck in a line of cars behind some roadhog Dodge with a Cabover camper flat towing a jeep and saw Dodge and Durango on the tailgate of the SUV I was following. More generic looks for the loss.

I've hauled them out of the Jefferson Assembly plant. Ugly as fuck. Not a fan.

Nah. I left out the part about divebombing the asshole in a Silverado pulling a trailer with 3 motorcycles on it after he rolled through a stop forcing me to brake down to 20 under until I could pass as equally rudely as possible.

I like them. They are based on the same platform as the new Grand Cherokee. I'll never pay what they want though so I just hope they last 10yrs so I can get a used one. I'm also hoping to get a cheap 2012 JK somewhere around 2022.

Dodge was a white crewcab, Jeep was very dark, didn't notice all the other details because I was about the 10th car back in a line of well over 20 cars by the time we got to the top of Hoosier Pass between Alma and Breckenridge, CO and a Burgundyish s10 Blazer immediately behind the flat towed jeep was staying several car lengths back from it. The rig did OK for what it was, but should have pulled over to let us all by at the top. 20 plus cars don't catch up to you if you are going fast enough. Typical weekend traffic stuff here.

They are a Mercedes in Jeep/Dodge clothing. The Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Durango are built on the same platform as the Mercedes ML. I picked up a Grand Cherokee last year and it's been a great vehicle for us. The build quality is excellent and it's been trouble free so far.

I thought Daimler and Chrysler parted ways? My '07 grand has a few MB parts, they were the first to fail. Nice vehicle otherwise.

We've been looking at SUVs to replace my wife's Nissan Altima and out of everything we've test driven the V8 Durango Citadel is at the top of the list. It seats 6, has tons of power and the build quality looks comparable to the Tahoe and Expedition that we've also driven.
I'm not sold on the looks really but that goes for anything out right now, the Durango isn't better/worse than the other options we've looked at. |
