The fact that bubbles are coming up through Bayou's over the same part of the salt dome where this sinkhole has appeared in the past two weeks definitely points to some kind of movement or void in the dome. The chances of something similar happening are slim to none, but I still wouldn't feel comfortable considering the circumstances. |

not worse in that some major catastrophe is going to happen, but worse in that they really knew more details than they let on. the year before they plugged it, they were milling out sections of the well going into the cavern to see if that area could be mined. they milled area around the casing up to 100' above the cavern wall and that's where it's suspected that the breach has occurred. the reason they haven't put it together is because they have no idea why, how or where from the gas bubbles are coming from.

Goddamn. Few things make me stop and have worry/fear creep in, but holy shit, that's certainly one of them.
That map of Detroit is going to be hard to keep out of my head next time I go to Melvindale ![]() ![]()

I don't recall the details of why, but we started talking about "fracking" and he told me he'd been a gov. loan officer and quit the biz when he found out HOW the horizontal maneuvered explosions occur in the 1st initial steps to mine for the gas. He said it's accomplished with nukeing. No one REALLY knows that and if they do,. it's swept under the rug..... I googled the BEST I could and this PARTICULAR fact is COMPLETELY ignored. It was interesting and eerie that he told me..... anyway.... S.

Big-ass rail yard. There's a refinery across the street, both over that mine. I hope I'm not around if that shit ever caves in

Yes sir. The rail yard (at least the auto part of it) is tucked in behind the storage tanks. You get to drive under the piping to get in.

They're supposed to be drilling a relief well ASAP but they're expecting it to take 40 days. I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would want to be on a drilling rig anywhere near that hole right now but I guess money talks. |
