Mens basketball team???

I root for the USA in everything that I watch during the Olympics. Stayed up till midnight to watch the Fab 5 girls gymnastics team win gold. Volleyball, track, diving and a bunch of other events that I will NEVER watch again until the next Olympics.

I am not saying that I want the men's team to lose but I have a hard time watching a getting excited over them winning.

Its kind of like if my sons high school varsity football team was playing the local elementary school. Sure its nice he won, but c'mon........am I really going to be pumping my fist in the air and yelling and cheering because they have an 80 yard run against a bunch of 11 year olds? When they walk off the field with a 90-0 victory do I tell him how awesome the game was? Probably not. I admit that I sometimes catch myself rooting for the other team to just make it close in the couple games that I watched.

I do believe we should send out our best; other countries do. Just cant get into it.

No don't care about basketball, just a bunch of USA professionals who get paid millions already in the sport. If it was amateurs then i would.

I'm not a fan of basketball in the least, but it is entertaining to see USA mop the floor with the other teams.

It was interesting to hear the commentators comment on how the players have been so 'unselfish' on the court; passing the ball to someone else instead of just making the play.

I appreciate the diminished egos they are presenting; if the NBA was more like this, perhaps I'd watch more.

That essentially is my point. I am not a jealous one and enjoy watching athletes that get paid millions in football and baseball so that is not it.

I watch other sports that I never watch regularly during the Olympics. Dont we all.

Just cant get into the mens basketball.

At least men's basketball is tolerable to watch. The women's final is terrible.

It's supposed to be our best competitors in all sports. Do you want us to bring the local high school pole vaulters? Our amateur, or collegiate BB players would and have gotten beat. That's why we went to the NBA in 92. Everyone else was using players from their professional sports leagues. Notice the familiar names on the other teams (Ginobli, Gasol, etc)

You already know basketball, it is on tv all the dang time, so it's not so interesting. Combined with the fact that the US team is always the heavy favorite just makes it less exciting to watch compared to other Olympic events.

Nope, don't care in the least. I care even less about women's basketball.

I don't dislike them because they are wealthy, I find basketball boring and have since I was very young.

I will admit I did watch Jordan, he was an incredible athlete.
