Pretty simple: we are commanded to take care of our families and communities, but not to murder. Pretty straight forward to me.

Greatest thing God blessed us with is common sense, free will and the ability to use them. There are times to be passive, and times to be defensive. The bible demonstrates both of those points, but expects the people to use their own judgement and free will to determine the situation.

Boinking?

Really?

Were you fucking her while dressed like Disney characters?

Shit, I realize your old and all, but didn't "boinking" fall off in the 20's?

I shudder at the thought of someone asking you to "boink the shit out of them."

The way I see it, I have to answer for what I have done and you have to answer for what you have done...and I'm good with that.

Common Sense?
The ability to use them?

I hope your belief in god is not predicated on evidence that he/she/it blessed the people with these things, cause I'm not seeing a whole lot of common sense, or at least very little ability to use it.

That's how you can tell who the non-believers and heathens are.

True, common sense might have been the wrong word, lets just stick with free will...

Christians, The Second Amendment and The Duty of Self Defense

It's actually pretty straightforward.

The commandment is supposed to read "thou shalt not murder" not "thou shalt not kill". It is possible to kill without murdering. Even God realizes the need to kill at times.

Second, the "turn the other cheek" references are a specific set of instructions given by Jesus to his apostles. This was never intended behavior for all Christians. A similar passive aggressive shock tactic was used by Gandhi and MLK.

If you read further Jesus also stopped his followers after they attacked one of the men who were comming after him say "enough of this" then healing the attacked man.

Ummm... you need to read a bit before that. It wasn't just his Apostles but also the rest of his followers and others that were there (the Disciples), Luke 6:17 on ought to do it. It was meant as a teaching for everyone, not a select few. In Luke 6:27 he said "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you," At that point there were more than his Apostles or even Disciples there. Matthew 5 also backs this up.

Again, totally different context.

And there is a huge difference between "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you," and "do not raise a finger to the man who wants to kill you and rape your wife"
