ONYX holster from StealthgearUSA

I'm sure a few guys on here like to conceal firearms here and there, and I've recently found a great new holster. Finding the right concealable holster can be as hard as finding the right firearm to carry. StealthgearUSA has made a holster that took the dual clip leather with kydex style holster to the next level. Stealthgear uses breathable Vortex material, so there's no more sweat building up due to hot skin on leather like other IWB holsters. I've been wearing the ONYX with my M&P40c for about 3 months now, and this is hands down the most comfortable holster that i've used. Breathable material, padded, adjustable positioning, and lightweight.

Check them out at stealthgearusa, and on facebook too. I know that they have a discount code going right now of, "carry on", for 10% off.

Image found online, shows the Vortex material:

1). Spam, 'cause you're sposed to have some paid-for vendor's star to pimp stuff here.

2). Site registered to:

Zat choo, man?

3). Never mind that, I wouldn't do business with a company with no real info in their "Contact Us" page. That says at worst scam, and at best that the owner doesn't want to bother with customers.

4). Breathable is a great idea... But what's with the size!! That thing looks like a back brace!

So it's basically a Crossbreed holster made with material.

hey guys, this is Tyler with StealthGear. (previously with alljeep.) I noticed some traffic coming from pirate and found this thread! Not sure why a review on our holsters is getting so much flack. I'm mostly a lurker here nowadays and read product reviews like this one all day long and have made many purchases based on good product feedback. Sami is a customer of ours and since our company is a relatively new company I've been encouraging reviews of our holsters to get the word out. Anyways, I'll answer a couple questions here and then start a thread in the sporting section.

to subybaja: breathable IS a great idea, and that is why we are building these holsters. I worked all last summer outside wearing one of these and the breathability of these makes it amazing to wear all day vs a leather holster that gets sweaty and uncomfortable. The size? no larger than other brands that you can find all over the place. 10" long for mid to large guns and 9" long for small guns. The length lets the weight of the gun be spread across the holster so that you don't feel the weight of the gun tugging at one spot of your pants. Much more comfortable than a one clip holster that tugs at your pants all day. This lets you be more active while wearing your holster and not even notice it's there. Like I said, I've done lots of construction work, golfed, even played baseball once with it on at a family gathering (just to see what it would do) and it stayed put the whole time! And with the ventilation I stayed dry.

as for the contact page...my partner (Paul L) and I have full time jobs and are trying to build StealthGearUSA into our full time gig, but for now we can't always receive phone calls during the day. America is a great country to be because of opportunities for normal guys like us who have a great idea and determination to make it into a business. We answer all emails that come through and have only received great feedback from our customers. Eventually we will have a full contact page with office numbers, hours of operation.....the works, but for now I'm up until 1am every night building holsters or answering emails, and that's how it will be until we can get this to full-time status, and based on sale growth, we'll be there a lot faster than we imagined!

to Cabin Boy: Crossbreed was the first (I think) to sell this general design with the 2 clips and kydex. Great idea. There have been MANY imitations of the crossbreed. While we do use 2 clips and kydex, our holsters are in a league of their own because of our (patent pending) platform design with the padding and ventilation. If crossbreed or anybody else had done a vented holster, we wouldn't be making these, but we are filling a much needed void in the holster market. It is not a knock-off.

I'm going to start a different thread to "properly" introuduce us, and answer any more questions.

edit: new thread- http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/outdo...thgearusa.html

Thanks guys!

Tyler

Pretty sure Tucker Gun Leather was the originator.

Nice idea to make it breathable. I will check them out.

I'm in the market but a cheap bastard. Cross breed is $30 cheaper. Yes I get the fabric vs leather but I'm not seeing that being $30. Closer price to your competitor seems like good marketing if your margin allows for it.

And Old Faithfuls are $30 cheaper than Crossbreed. Different levels of product call for different prices.

I'm a cheap bastard so I ordered the Old Faithful. If I like the style I will definitely consider an ONYX

Post how it works out. $40 is awfully inviting.
