Goat/sheep land management

I bought 34 acres, 28 wooded with undergrowth and pond bank. Not mowing or brush hogging is my goal. There is a party barn that will be fenced out in some way.

Is it possible to contain animals in a large area like this?
Cost to do so?

3819'15.67"N

8656'26.91"W

In google earth you can see the amount of flood plain too. I am hoping to clear the flood area and pond bank. The kids would love the animals and I would not have to mow!

Just simple wire post with three levels of electric fence?
Maybe 4 goats and 4 sheep 1 mini donkey.

Won't come close to eating enough to keep 30+ acres clear.

Get Spanish goats, or some other "primitive" breed. Some of the more domesticated goats are reluctant to eat brush. They just stand at the fence bleating at you until you feed them.

If you plan on breeding, don't keep goats and sheep together. Billy goat will beat up the ram and mate the ewes himself. DNA isn't compatible, so there won't be any lambs.

30 sheep clear about 10-12 acres of scrub grass in a month. They always leave the tall, clumpy grass and new growth poplar trees, but pretty much eat everything else.

Well, thats in Alberta, probably same type of area.
