What gun is favored by your local cops?

I live in far West Texas and most of the Deputys-Police carry 1911 style handguns. When I was A LEO we had H&K P2000. It had the shittiest trigger on any handgun I have ever fired. I like the stock 12 pound pull on my 10/22 better than the P2000. I had a glock for while and I liked it, but I love the 1911. Do the modern wonder 9 millimeter guns work any better than a good .45?

County Mounties carry 1911 style .45
City police carry glock 9mm. Not sure what model.

Issued a glock 17 but can carry any glock chambered in 9, 40 or 45.
or can carry our previously issued sig 226's in 9 or 40 if you purchased it back.

The real reason they need a 9mm with double the capacity:

Quote:
LEO’s miss between 70 – 80 percent of the shots fired during a shooting incident

Interesting...I think this might be typical of people shooting at each other including the military? I'm not talking snipers.....

Lots of Sigs and Glocks......mixed in with some Springfield's

Just depends on the department policy....... some let officers carry whatever they want, as long as they can qualify

Some mandate the issued pistol is the gun everyone must carry......which is smart because in a SHTF incident all magazines will work in everyone's firearm

We carry Sig Sauer P226R Tac Ops (40 S&W)......four mags carried with 15 rounds each

do people still use that phrase? "modern"? The Glock was designed 33 years ago, its about as "modern" as a DeLorean.
