Today may be my last day on PBB
...from work, that is. They're enabling web content filtering Monday. The following types of sites will be filtered:
Gambling Adult or sexually explicit Criminal skills and Terrorism Hate or Racism Illicit drugs (cocaine, methamphetamine, etc) Cult / Occult Recreational chat Violence I don't know if PBB qualifies as a "cult" or "recreational chat", but we'll see

even though my firm is very lax on our computer/internet usage, here's what i do:
1) install AnalogX Proxy on home pc behind router with cable connection -note: that proxy lacks an security. anyone can use it which is why i also use the steps below 2) bind proxy to local ip of home pc 3) setup VPN on home pc (win2k, winxp all can do this). open port 1723 on firewall 4) connect to home VPN from work computer 5) run all non-work www sites, aim, etc through proxy you need a pretty good understanding of computers this way, but it makes for a secure way of doing things.

My employer has a boatload of filtering, and so far, PBB hasn't been touched. Some of the posted links ARE.
BTW, they're also filtering out ALL web proxies, so doing the anonymizer thing doesn't necessarily work. <grin> I've got an sshd process running at home. No filtering on that........(like jht3's process.) ChiXJeff |

It was a pay service, but it was only like $2 per month. Apparently they weren't charging enough. |

You're screwed, the PBB is really a cult, headed by Rev. Lance.

Chris, I wouldn't worry about it too much. They use blocking software at work and it doesn't block PBB and it misses some of the other stuff it's supposed to get. YMMV.
