Looks great. I'd paint the rallye wheels black, and find a factory steering wheel, but that's just me.

Not with the spinners and rim ring. Body comor might be acceptable but I wouldn't.

Yes to steering wheel.

But it aint my car

ha, i am with you on the ocd triggers.
i am sure one day when i have time to want and do it, the blue will turn black...maybe.
i still need to put a fuel filter in and i scored some great rear coilovers along with a sway bar that will go in.
i am putting matching but wider meat on the rear soon too.
The fuel line hook up if you look close should also drive you nuts. i am thinking of just running fuel hose all the way from the pump and run it in a better layout.
Tach has to be hooked up too.
Oh and i need a catch bottle for the rad.

Its in the exhaust shop today. 2.5 inch dual to dynamax(sp?) mufflers to turned down tail pipes.
Of my options and pricing, i do not want highway drone. My exhaust guy that has built me many a custom exhaust over the years has never let me down on his suggestions.

agree on steering wheel. they make them, but to get one (from usa) it will set me back about 450. ouch.

i like the no paint, but if i did, it would be body color.

Haters gonna hate.
Fuck it, drive the wheels off of it.
I'd give my left nut just to be able to drive my hotrod. I have at least a solid two months of fab work to even think about driving it. Fix the little nitpicky shit later.

agree on body color. i have the code and local auto place will put it in rattle cans. i will paint the underside of hood as it is really the only place that showed minor surface rust in spots after i tore out the underlay.
But, i kind of like the stock color for the wheels.

Basically, i will drive it before i spend too much more. If i like it after the summer, than my budget will allow for more things to be done right, like a steering wheel.

OP, no need to be defensive.

It's yours so make it yours.

No matter what, we will do our best to criticize, demean, and ridicule.

It's what we do.

I would so keep the blue heater hoses just because I know BBJ and Plym have issues with it

I would probably go buy more blue hose to put under the hood

goes up and down the gears with no issues at all.
i think it has an air bubble or two in the rad. i will remedy that.
the tach is not hooked back up yet, so driving it to exhaust shop today, i never really gave it a workout as its so loud, i really had no idea of what rpm's i was at. ha.
no more leaks except from timing chain cover which my buddy acknowledges as his problem to fix.
i do have to wash all the leaks from before i got it that make the underside look like it drove through an oil tanker spill.

I should clarify.

I have my own tastes as do us all in terms of cosmetics and so on. I am also prolly the most cash-poor person on the Board, so I understand not throwing money at a project just to add a few decimal points of perfection.

However - and this makes me crazy - sloppy wiring and plumbing just, well, makes me crazy.

It does not cost more or take more time to not have droopy, sloppy wires and hoses and tubes and so on.

Fuck mismatched colors or whatever. Just run the shit neat. Nothing screams 'backyard hack' more than sloppy wires and hoses and so on.

Cut shit to the proper length, if something needs to cross from left to right either arrange it so it doesn't have to, or do the crossovers neatly. All zip ties should point the same way with the clasp rotated down out of sight. Hose clamps should point the same way and either align or be installed that you can get at them easily with a screwdriver.

Hey, you would not leave the goopy stuff on your patients when you finish with them, would you? (That did not come out right.)(Neither did that.) So straighten your gig line, soldier, because the first thing anyone sees is this sort of sloppiness. Plus, for your own personal sense of pride in your work.

Budget and taste are independent items. Workmanlike quality transcends.

(And yes, I did notice that wonky fuel line connection, but did not mention it because this is the new kindler, gentler Plym.)

If it's leaking from the Harmonic Balancer seal you can get a speedy sleeve for the balancer, and/or make sure the new seal is not riding in an old groove.

Bah. That's just chassis lubrication. Keeps the rust off her.

duly noted and your comparison is amusing.

the car was 3 weeks behind schedule, so the details were left aside so i could get it to exhaust today.
i will do all you suggested.
