Disposable cameras & Expiration Date?

Why do disposable cameras have expiration dates? DO rolls of film have them too? The wording is actually develope by: such and such date.

I came across a small box of undeveloped 35mm film and several disp. cameras. So if any of you know the answer, it may save me $$$ for developing

The film quality deteriorates over time, and the photo quality will not be as good. Your colors may be off slightly... In fact, I have seen entire rolls with a pinkish hue in every photo.

Moisture in the air is the #1 problem, so you shouldn't have too many problems in CA. In the deep south, however, the film will deteriorate rapidly.

Well if you`ve used it already why not
If you don't develop it you don't really gain anything

Just take it to the chaepest place--single prints and cross your fingers....youwon't be bummer for paying too much if they don't turn out, and youcan make copies of them if they do.... If you have kept them in an environment where they having gotten really hot, they will probably be ok...

actually temperature is a bigger issue in film storage.

I'd go to Sams club and turn it in with an assumed name and address. Then when you go pick them up (my sams club lets you pick up your own photos), and find out they don't turn out, or you have no clue who they are, just put them back in the bin.

Okay, I probably wouldn't do that, but it's a great idea, isn't it??
