My first truck (85 F350 diesel) is sitting out back with a blown motor, I won't get rid of it. One day I will get it back on the road. Good luck on your searching.

I would hope that my first vehicle that I bought was scrapped and recycled, a 79 Pinto isn't something to be proud of

I'll never be able to get rid of my first car (my current truck)... ever... although I do see it getting hacked up pretty good when I get another daily driver...

My first car went away on the back of a scrap truck. It's probably a table lamp in one of your houses.

Try Sunnyvale junk yards (or post wanted photos near that Exxon).

they changed the smog laws about that time so a 1974 does not have to get smogged anymore

you could go to dmv with the licence plate #3NIF711 or the vin #4W93L204953 and ask for a printout on the car they may or may not give you the info, or you could go in and tell them you lost the paperwork on a car you bought and the vin # is 4W93L204953 they will normally give you a printout of the last registered owner on file

in 03 is when the 74 became exempt. so it already had been off the road since at least 99. cause the smog would be bi-annual, unless it was a transfer of ownership. no of course it could have sat for 4 years then re-reg'd or renewed again.

I could not remember exactly when 74 became exempt

would a car fax history report show the current owner?

I doubt on a 74 maverick maybe if it were a 99 caravan where the vehicle history would matter.

No, all that will tell you is what the last place it was registered.. The only time I have seen it show the name of any owner is if it was a dealer..

About 2 years ago when I was junkyarding, I stumbled upon my first car. I had totaled it when I was 16. Was kinda neat to find it like that, and I even found like 2 dollars in change under the floormats

Mine was '55 Ford Sedan Delivery. Sold it in 1994 to a guy in Ohio. I imagine it's still around.

I found mine in the junkyard about 2 years ago. It's long been recycled by now. It was kinda sad seeing it there. The key I hid in the glove box was still there.
