News of this has spread to more than 100 websites, including public discussions on 85 different forums.
The Detroit News has reported on GM's involvement in the PowerTV scam.
The Center for Media and Democracy, a non-profit organization that works on "investigating and exposing public relations spin and propaganda", has exposed PowerTV's spin tactics.
So far, we've documented 27 forums that have banned PowerTV.
Jon Nguyen ("powerjon"), a 21-year old PowerTV stealth marketer, has claimed to own 7 different cars (depending on which forum he's posting), including a "1990 Ford Focus", a car that wasn't even manufactured until 2000.
On his personal MySpace page, a PowerTV employee mentions that PowerTV is an "online viral video marketing company that focuses on the automotive market". When we publish the statement in this article, he deletes it -- only to discover that we had already cached his MySpace page...
