So, you have multiple wives and one of them has a son?

Inquiring minds want to know, how do the "hot spots" look? around back window and trunk? Is that a real R/T ?

Love those cars, spent a lot of time in my friends '69 SE 440 4spd in high school (mid-90's). He was restoring it but found so much body rust he decided to sell it and build the rust free 1971 Challenger he'd found. Everything was still bringing realistic prices back then, sold his Charger for $4000 and picked up the Challenger for $1200 (complete minus factory 318/3spd).

I'd run an 8 3/4 rear if it doesn't have it already (If an R/T, some came with Dana 60's). 8 3/4 will handle an ass-load of abuse. I've pounded the one in my '65 Dodge Coronet w/440. I have it setup with a sure-grip and 3.91 gears. If it's a cruiser, 3.23's are a real nice ratio.

Real RT with the matching numbers. it has the 8 3/4, of course it is missing the 3rd member. So we'll see. Hot Spots don't look bad. I'll have more through the build.

thanks,

I'm so jealous it's not funny. '68 Chargers are my favorite car.

May we ask how much you paid for it?

Please keep us updated.

Cool build. After seeing all of the tuner crap out there, it's cool to check out some American muscle. I miss my Dodge's, but my wallet and fuel card certainly don't.

thanks folks.

ever since me and his momma got married that's all he has ever ask for... of course neither one of us could ever afford it.

he got this one off of e-bay in SC for 5000 bills. one hell of a deal. Kinda of funny, he put in a bid, then had to run out on a mission... after comming off the mission, knowing he lost the car. he checked his ebay add and had WON... he called us right then and thier. I think it was around 3:00 am... we don't mind getting calls like that...

back to the post... (no tech here right)...

Day 2 is uploading...

I just caught the details of the build and who it's for. What do you need help with on the car?

I'm a decent painter, can do a little body work..

it's an 8 3/4 that is actually missing it's third member. i'll let you know when the "kid" tells me what he's gonna do with it...

orig color looks to be red, orig motor/tranny 440/727. which we have.

oh, that's better...

something we found under the dash that looked like it fell out of the glove box.

what's left of the wire harness.

Nice. My first car was a '69 Charger with a 383 Magnum, which I built from a shittly 383. The car turned low 10's in the 1/4 at the sac raceway back in 1980 when they had open nights on Wednesdays. Of course I also raced it on the side

As a few others have already suggested, I'd use an 8.75 rear diff. They seem to handle abuse well.

Slightly off topic, but I'd venture to say that we've been seeing a lot more tuner crap as of late due to the crazy prices that decent American muscle cars and the like are going for these days. About the only American car of that era I could realistically afford (since it obviously wouldn't be a DD) is a Pinto. Hell, I'd even be happy with a Mopar C body in decent shape at this point (I really want to build an EFI turbo big block mopar).

here's some pics to send your little friends.

christopher drives the rescue truck to go fetch anything that can't come back on it's own for any reason.

he isn't allowed to take pictures of the blown up vehicles but sometimes he goes out to get idiots.

he's top row center in the other pic. in case you forgot or can't find him

since i have to work this weekend i won't have any updates

doner car. Christopher has pulling this car around for about 5 years. he got it ff of e-bay, and luckily this isn't the one we are working on. yep it's a burned up car. but has parts available, we have a complete 8 3/4 and a radiator support member. after the parts are cut off it'll head to the crusher.
