Pussy surgery
My Gfriend took her cat in to have it spade last week and asked me if I would bring the cat in to have it's stitches taken out.
I've done the math, and at the current price of gas, this will cost me about $16.42 and at least 2.5 hours off my busy day running around. My other option is to do this myself. Has anybody ever attempted to remove stitches from a high strung perma-tweaked cat before and lived to tell about it? ![]()

I have a few times......good luck
![]() as someone told me in my how to give a cat a pill thread, cats are sharp. 2 people is the best way to attack that situation, but if your bendy enough you can do it yourself.

BTDT, have the scars to prove it.
Don't do it alone and don't do it if you don't have the nifty suture scissors with the little cutout for the suture.

You can do it yourself. YOu will need 2 people though. One to strangle the cats neck (on the back, um scruff it)
and the other to snip the stiches and pull out. You will need some tiny sharp scissors, finger nail scissors work good and some tweezers. Snip the stich on either side of the knot and use the tweezer to yank it out. If some of the skin has embedded around the stich, pull a bit hard it should come out. Put a little neosporin on it if it bleeds a tiny bit. You can do it yourself. I have always done my dogs and cats... Oh make sure you steralize the tweezers and scissors, just to be safe... You might get a scratch or two...

I wouldn't be trying that then.
We've got an outside cat that hurt it's foot. My wife tried taking it to the vet... yeah, it had nothing of that box. I came home dawned the carhartt jacket and got to hold the 10lbs of muscular fury while my wife cleaned and dressed the paw. |

A little over a week ago the two feral cats we're trying to tame were like that video. Now we can pet one a little, the other just wants to play with our hands. They're still fairly wild though.
Now that we know they are males, the vet wants nearly $300 to 'fix' them. Anybody ever done this themselves? I figure a good tight rubberband and some time should do it...

Can you safely handle holding the cat at all? If so just grab it and wrap it in a large bath towel leaving the area open and do your thing. A second person really comes in handy though, cats are the devil.
