Where can you buy ammonium nitrate or 34-0-0 fertilizer

Before you guys get freaked out... its to make tannerite... trying to make some to shoot for this weekend shooting trip... apperently its legal to make so I'm fine.

But do any large chain stores... lowes, tractor supply, farm and fleet, etc. carry either 34-0-0 fertilizer or ammonium nitrate?

MIke.

I have heard you can buy it but it has an agent/additive to make it non-explosive.
A feed store is where I would try, however I doubt anyone would sell it to you unless they were confident it was being used as fertilizer.

Home Depot sells it in Los Angeles. You shouldn't have to answer ANY questions unless buying large quantities.

Urea based 34-0-0 is not ammonium nitrate though from what I understand. Around here you wouldn't be able to buy it unless you were life long friends with the seller. It went away shortly after Timmy decided it was a good idea to fill a truck with it and blow up a building.

This brings back memories of when I used to be a delivery driver for a company called Aga-Turf. I used to have to drive down to L.A.to pick up about 10 tons at a time of Ammonium Nitrate in my beat up old DIESEL work truck. I used to always think I was going to get in an accident and take out half of L.A. They used to sell the stuff at most Farm and Ag stores and never needed anything special to buy it.

well, a farmboy going to the co op probably wouldn't get asked questions, but someone from Chicago that had to travel to a co op is probably going to raise some eyebrows.

I are not farm boy, I drove my wife's Freestyle to pick it up...though I bought 50 lb each of triple phosphate and potash, too.

Show up in a Miata, see how much you can buy. I bet it's less than would fit in a Miata...

I just bought 9 tons of it a few months ago with no questions asked. Put in my truck and drove home. I even spoke to a few of my cops buddies that day.

Man my fields look good after I use it.
