I don't think anyone here is driving a kit. I also dont think anyone here is a fan of the kits, so you're prolly gonna have to just shell out the cash.

Do you ask ?'s about your "Urban Gorilla kit" in the Hummer forum, or in the UGBB? C'mon.... Seriously, this is frikin ridiculous. I put a CTD in my HMMWV and I don't waste peoples time here asking retarded newb questions about inline 6-cyl diesels and 618 trans'. There's a place for fakes and its not here unless he wants to build one to spec. from scratch. Can a brutha get an "AMEN"?

Depends on what you mean on building an H1.

What's your goal? Build something that looks like an H1? Or something that performs like one? You want to go a kit route? Or get a project hmmwv/h1 and rebuild that.

If you want to throw a steel clone body on a suburban chassis with a big gas engine, that's one thing... You'd be missing out on the geared hubs, the frame/suspension setup, etc.

I'm guessing the kit cars out there are very heavy, since H1's uses a aluminum body tub that's light and can flex easily. The kit cars use steel body work that'll be heavy with minimal flex so I'm not sure if that's a good idea from a design standpoint.

With the current economy the way it is you can get a driver condition HMMWV or early model year H1 for as low as 20,000$, so buying a kit for 10-12,000$ and then buying a donor vehicle and spending time to make a knock off doesn't make much sense to me at least.

Cheapest project I've seen was a complete hmmwv rolling chassis for $7000 with the engine and transmission in pieces in the bed with no electrical wiring. I was tempted to get that but having one project truck is enough at the moment

so you mean building one from scratch is not possible, since from scratch wouls still not be a "real" hummer? or do you mean order or buy an actual hummer frame, actual hummer body, doors, axles, powertrain, etc?

This does not sound like his question, since he is asking about build plans:

Anyone have any plans, drawings, dimensions or spechs that they would like to share? thanks

I think tremour plans and other kits will still make a very capable rig and possibly give some room for upgrades (i.e the mogger H1 project). I think takes a lot of skill to build these rigs from scratch, even with plans...

same thing applies for cool hot and rat rods, takes a lot of skill to build one, and will hopefully give some cool ideas for people open to them...
