I won this inserts from eBay a few weeks ago… they we’re described as to be used with H1 beadlock wheels but when they arrived they seem to narrow (only 3.5”) and they are like 16.5” OD, but obviously they won’t work with H1 wheels...these are like half the size they should be to work on a H1 double beadlock… nomal inserts are like 6.75"
Someone knows the correct application of these Hutchinson inserts??

If it's only 3", and that it's indicating one side to be aligned for a bead, it may be an H1 bead lock that is designed to be used along with the Runflat ring. The runflat will lock one bead, and this band the other side.
It doesn't look like a commercial H1 version, since H1's don't have bias ply tires from the OEM, only radials, and those runflats/beadlocks from the factory are one big unit. Maybe this was a military unit for the old 8 bolt rims that replaced the magnesium runflat setup with a 2 piece beadlock and runflat that works together.

those look exactly like my beadlocks for my 2 piece steel rims, but definitely not wide enough. Miner were 8 or 9" wide.

What you have is half of a hummer insert. You have the ring and are missing the runflat hoop. These were made in two peice versions and one peice versions. The one you have is half of a two piece (easier to get in tire). The other is a one piece hoop/runflat combo and is harder to get in the tire. Both styles are made in two widths, Bias and radial to accomadate the difference in sidewall thickness.

Just for the record... I installed them today... 2 of these inserts make 1, exactly the same size as the wheel inserts sold by Stak.
I only have 4 of these weird inserts, so these where good only for two wheels. worked great with 42" Bias TSL

If youre interested in selling them and getting full sized inserts, Ill take them off your hands. I have a set of 2 piece rubber hutchinson runflats, but they did not come with the inserts, so theyre useless to me and I cant seem to find just the inserts.

Each of those runflats weighs about 18lbs (if I remember). If you put 2 in there, you are looking at 36 pounds. With the wheel and tire, you are talking about 150lbs or more! Probably not bad for a trail rig, but won't be fun for street driving.
I have those in my tires, but I have the 2nd beadlock piece too. Balancing is difficult with Intercos Trxus. Took almost 1 1/2 pounds to balance each of the tires. With centramatics, it still runs like crap. |
