You've all read the crap about not being real wheelers. We've all heard some BS "mall crawler" comment. Well here's your chance to show up. Anyone goin to KOH? I'm not runnin a GM/Hummer, but I am runnin an AmGen and believe anyone willing to break their shit in an effort to make their skills better belongs 'round the campfire. Lets be there in force! Post up if you wanna roll.

What kind of truck are you running? Stock? Or you going with a completely customized built based on a hmmwv/h1 chassis?

BTW, you prolly know my truck from HXC. I was asking you about getting BioFuel from EverGreen about 6 months ago. The truck has been heavily chopped, so it has the chassis and running gear, but not the d-train. Anyways, the intended point of the thread is: I hear enough crap from people about how Hummers aren't real wheelers to start an uprising (even though mine isn't actually a "Hummer"). BigK, you gonna show? Psychos? Anyone besides me that can get a weekday off at the end of Feb??? I bought a trailer from EMS that can easily be converted into a mega-road-side-kitchen and I'm not scared to use it to cook for new friends on!!!!....or use it to just bring extra beer.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. My truck goes from the Rubicon to the drag strip over the course of a week. If you think black and grey powdercoated double beadlocks with 40" Iroks fits the soccer mom image then "bitch, get out the way. my kids gotta get to practice."

Oh no, I'm not going. After seeing what it takes to get a H1 up to Baja specs I don't have 50-150k laying around. I don't even have 1/10th of that

If the competition was to get 5000 lbs carried to the finish line over desert and rocks, that's a different story, that's what our trucks are built for.

To race custom built crawlers, half or more of the weight of an h1/hmmwv with custom suspension? I'm afraid a relatively stock truck isn't going to hold up against a specialized custom vehicle. One's street legal, one isn't.

If I were doing it, I'd have a stripped down H1 with a duramax diesel, upgraded shafts and drivetrain, upgraded cooling, cut away body panels and a nice suspension/shock upgrade. The limited suspension travel and body is going to get in the way of this event, stock that is.

Don't get butt hurt. You're not going to the Rubicon or the Drags. It's the Hammers. I've been on all three plus I've done plenty of wheeling in Hummers in various countries. The things I identified won't help you out there. It's KOH. Know your place.

PM me if you want to hook up while we're out there. It's always bitchen to have different rigs out there taking different lines. I get board watching everyone do the same thing on the same obstacle.

People said the same thing when we wanted to do the Rubicon and Fordyce, Golden Spike....blah, blah, blah.

Some of the trails at the hammers are like little sluice on the Rubicon, some of them are just tough trails.

We're not dumb, just adventurous.

Not butt hurt, just getting used to calling out the nay-sayer crowd. I know the Hammers are unique and deserve respect, but there was a time when people said the same thing to Toys, Jeeps, whatever. I appreciate the invite and we may take you up on the offer. Trust me, when you see the trucks coming, the last thing you'll think is soccer mom.
