Hummer Diesel?

What do you think GM should do ,to keep the hummer line living ?? drop some models, move the H3 to the truck line ,add which diesel engine, i think they must keep the cost down, for sales, how should they do that, they GM don't seem to know. I guess what i'm trying to say or ask what do we the consumer want, other than a good mpg diesel engine? mabe the rest of this group can say or know better ,what GM should do?

Exclamation GM does know what to do!

GM here in USA/CAN know what to do and have had high mpg tech for some time now. Case in point OPEL line has a 1.3 liter turbo diesel which is placed into what is called the eco speedster this setup gets 113mpg when driven normally, when the hammer is down it has supercar performance and gets 33+mpg.

Yes, GM knows what to do!

I have seen more than a few old tech indirect fueled 6.2/6.5 gm diesels in 1/2,3/4 and 1 tone trucks get 30+ mpg w/tweaking. Use of hydrogen as supplement will drive up power and mpg to higher levels.

Perhaps, a small Cummins would be the best move to diesel in the H3 attached to a 4L80 or even a 6L80 using lockup and equipped w/exhaust brake, oh and much stronger differentials....................IMHO

Our goverment regulation is what is causing us not to have a small diesel option. The option is cost prohibitive becasue the will not be high volume enough to repay development cost. The American people think of diesel as dirty loud and clumsy. We realize the benefits of the power plant but the majority of people are to dumb to remember that coffee is served at 160-180 degrees and you should not place the cup between your legs!

It always seems to be the worker's fault...no one ever points fingers at the guys running the companies. The ceo's are the one's steering the ship into troubled waters, ignoring signs of bad things to come, and prepping their golden parachutes to bail with tens-of-millions each when the shit hits the fan.
