The V8 H3T [under the Alpha badge] can tow up to 5,900 lbs, so I can imagine it would be able to handle a trailer with a samurai on it.

The H3T is built on the GMT900 frame system, same as the 1500-2500 silverado/sierra trucks, and shortened to accomodate the 6in shorter overall length.
6100 GVWR 1031 payload 5900# towing 2010 Siverado 7000 GVWR 1652 payload 10400# towing H3T should handle your trail rig without issue, but I would recommend the wd hitch and must have good brake controller. Do you want a quote?
