H-1 VIN denotations ????

I am potentially looking to purchase a pre-'06 H-1.

I read the following in an internet ad for a used H-1:
"Most important though is that it has the heavy duty engine block! Earlier produced series had a flaw where the #8 cylinder wall cracked. The "FA" in the VIN indicates it has the heavy duty block"

I am considering the purchase of a 2000, which the current owner (2nd owner) states has the Heavy Duty block, however it does not contain an "FA" in the VIN.

any help would be appreciated

Maybe it had a cracked block that has already been replced. i dont think that would chmnge the vin number but he should have some paper work to prove his statement.

Do they have a service history, or a full vin for a possible carfax?
